If you do find yourself on a market where they sell these for £10 please could you buy one for me and I will glad send you a voucher for a meal for one at a weatherspoons of your choice on any Tuesday night in April.

I quite fancied this until I saw the price ..

I guessed £300k so was pleasantly surprised. Either way, far out of my reach.

Aesthetics are subjective, and difficult to judge unless on the wrist.

However, I think the retrograde perpetual calendar is pretty cool, as is the running Equation of Time, and a tourbillon is never cheap in a watch like this. The peripheral winding rotor keeps the movement thin and there is 100m water resistance if you have the nerve to swim in it (or more likely sail with it).

Nice, although I prefer the blue/platinum version for a nautical theme.

Personally I think it’s a shame to see some of these comments on what’s meant to be a watch forum. It’s quite possible to dislike a watch in terms of style/design whilst still showing some appreciation for genuine haute horlogerie.

100% Tony. I guess doesn't have Rolex on the dial.....

As to the watch itself - it has equation of time, retrograde date, perpetual calendar and tourbillon. A rather interesting tourbillon too. £200k isn't cheap, but a lot of this sort of stuff rarely is. I'm a bit of a fan of the standard one, but compared to the VC Overseas three hander, it's way too expensive.

More info on this tourbillon watch - https://watchesbysjx.com/2020/03/bre...pink-gold.html

I could look at the Tourbillon all day. This tourbillon has me puzzled, know this is taking place and you can’t see it from the front...

Tourbillon's serve one purpose in modern day watches - adding drama! I mean some may enjoy the 'stealth' but not me. If I'm paying £200k, I want it front and centre!

Oh with the Breguet - notice the equation of time is overlayed on the tourbillon.....

For a tourbillion breguet qp? I would have guessed 135K GBP but i just checked the price and its over 200K USD lol

I think what makes this unique also is that its water resistant to 10ATM which I think is quite unusual and interesting, its a tourbillion u can actually swim with should u wish.

But yeah, way too expensive and frankly even if I saw it for 60K GBP, I still wouldnt go for it.

I like it but it's of zero consequence as finacially I am about as far from their target demographic as it's possible to be. I can't imagine how wealthy one needs to be to comfortably drop that much on a watch. It's obscene really.

That works for me, not really a fan of open hearts or exposed tourbillons. (Full skeleton is an exception)
My ethos is I buy watches for myself, so having “stealth” tourbillon that only I can see if I take the watch off is perfect.

Plus why i like watches where any of the extraneous indicators like PR, year etc are located on the back so the dial remains uncluttered.

Best offer I've seen in a while. Be better than wearing that watch I reckon!

This is exactly where I am with this one, Tony. I think the haute horologie crammed into this watch is breathtaking. I think the execution in design terms is...a little challenging, to put it mildly.

Talk of value at this level is an almost meaningless concept - if somebody is prepared to buy it at that price then it’s worth it to them.

The engraving of the galleon on the movement looks like a bad tattoo. Shocking.

As for the positioning of the Day / Month windows - all very dali-esque (i.e. completely random)

Is this actually in production or is just a Photoshop wind-up?

I immediately assumed this was a Ulysses Nardin, normally a fan of Breguet but I've never liked their Marine line

Interesting comments as they have helped me understand the surprisingly passionate reaction against the watch from some posters, along with some of the other comments. Of course, anyone is entitled to their opinion, positive or negative.

Breguet have often made off-centre dials, as do other makers. For me personally it creates a tension between the dial and the case that I often like, depending on the proportions.

The day of the week and month windows aren’t positioned randomly, they are a function of the design of the movement. I like the idea of form following function, if the function has something worth revealing about itself as this one does. The day and date windows aren’t ideal for me, but personally much better than some of the PP perpetual calendars where the date dial overlaps the central pinion.

The retrograde day of the month is a masterpiece for me and well worth putting in the centre of the dial.

The back view is a tricky one. Those bridges are so big because so much horology is mounted behind them, which is remarkable in a relatively thin movement. The rotor goes almost unnoticed, which again to me is pretty remarkable given that most automatics are permanently half-hidden by the rotor.

I don’t usually like engravings and this one feels a bit like they wanted to make the back look nautical. At least it is fairly tasteful and pretty well done.

Pretty much my view, but irrelevant really as I could never spend that much on a watch! If I could, I still probably wouldn't.

I'm not sure it's any worse than some of the watches the cognoscenti coo over though...

The offset dial, for example, seems a lot more justifiable than on those Glashutte Panoinverses with the ladies' watch dial in a big case and the back is different, but far more interesting, than one of those.
