Probably SpaceX satellites - or similar not sure if there are others.

Any idea what all the lights are in the sky- all travelling the same speed and very high- satellite high

Just saw three and they looked like satellites.
A bit early in the evening for these?

Friend of my wife said a meteor shower
Satellites, me and my daughter were watching them too after being tipped off by my brother in law.
Not good for real astronomy if these become common place.
Are they still there? Is it worth me getting off my sofa?
I managed to catch the last 15 or so, all in a perfect straight line and pretty much equal distance apart.
Any body got a rough idea how far apart they were in real terms ie; miles?

I was just about to post a thread about it,too.
Very odd sight - about 20 - 30 bright objects all travelling west - east over the south coast area, very high, no sound or lighting.
Saw a shooting star in the same area, all too much, thought it was judgement day..
Perhaps all this lockdown stuff is just an excuse to keep the world’s population out of the way for when the aliens come to take over.
They are going to be coming back over in just over 15 minutes according to this.
Ooh, I'll go get my binoculars.
After I read the OP’s post I thought I would go out and look, WOW three straight away then another heading south east right overhead , I got my 13 year old son out who was also amazed as we seen more, now I like a bit of amateur astronomy and often see satellites but this many, that close was a sight..
Funny thing was we seen another move in a different direction from north to south quite quickly over a short distance, it turned very bright and disappeared? Sometimes satellites turn and we see a flash from the panels so maybe this was what we seen, but the direction was odd..

I saw it but only 1. I must of missed the rest.
It was an interesting sight, that’s for sure!
When you sit and watch a clear night sky for long enough, you see plenty of satellites, but not 50 or 60 in a long line, very impressive.
Apparently they are launched into that orbit, and over the next 3 or 4 months will be boosted to different geostationary orbits 360+ miles up, so they’ll be less visible then and not in an orbiting line.

Also available as an app for iPhone/iPad and Android that allows you to set reminders.
I saw by chance one of the earlier Skytrains about two months ago.
Really quite mesmerising to watch.
Like a string of pearls crossing the sky.
Got the apps to see when the next visible passes were and have managed to see nothing since, even tho the sky is clear and have been out up to 15 mins before prediction and waited long after.
I’ll be out tonight to have a butchers.
I’ve got the ISS finder app and always go out to give that a salute as it passes.
Try the https://www.heavens-above.com/starlink.aspx website, gives a live view of where the satellite train is at any given time, and the previous Starlink launches, the earlier ones of which are dispersing now.
Apparently 21.55 is tonights time for 20 mins. @virtualastro on twitter is great at charting it and also meteor showers.
Ive seen it a few times between beginning of march and now, my dad and I have got into the habit of spotting.
Saw them last night. My app shows this for tonight.
Cool. Will give it a watch tonight with the family
Couldn’t see anything.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Saw 2 going at a decent speed, nothing like I expected. Pretty disappointing, will keep an eye out on the app for future opportunities to view.
Yep, definitely a poor show compared to last nights spectacle.
Counted about 10 here in Yorkshire but they’re spaced wide apart now. Parents also saw about the same at a different address in the same village, we also spotted a meteor heading South that burnt out. I think they were still coming but it’s absolutely freezing and had to come back inside.

4 over here, well spaced apart.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
The app seems out- it said for my location 9:58 but they were about 4 minutes out which is obviously some distance, saw about 6 in total but very dim
I saw about 8 sats spaces out over a ten min period. May not all have been Starlink.
Disappointing after expecting an impressive chain.
Must need to see the ones that have recently been launched.
Shame the app doesn't seem to tell you whether it’ll be a good or poor viewing based on number and spacing of them.
Saw 5-6 pass over, still managed to spot them despite the streetlamps trying to turn the sky orange
I thought they'd be following each other in close proximity, instead there was some distance between them and I could only see one in the sky at any moment. Still quite cool to witness, though.
Around 30 did pass over but we only saw about 8.
I saw three here in central Manchester, which pleased me. Normally you are doing well to see the moon here with the massive effect of the Aurora Bognor Regis.

Saw 6 over about 10 minutes, there are meant to be over 40. Do they get spaced out the longer they are up or can you
just not see them all?
spacecraft ion propulsion systems powered by krypton! I kid you not: https://www.starlink.com. I remember back at UCL physics / astronomy labs were connected by a pre-internet system called Starlink - http://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1986BICDS..30...13L
Took my two little uns about half a mile from the house to view them in total darkness. We saw a few but I was surprised by the gap between them. Bit disappointed to be honest.
And then across the valley we could see this fire some scrote had started.
So is the series coming over tonight at around 9pm going to be the same as last night?
I think was Starlink 5&6 last night and seems to be the same set tonight.
Anyone know which series it was on Sunday night that people said was really impressive?
I don’t want to tell my friends and family to go out again tonight only for us all to see the same “display” as last night
Also ...not sure if this link has been shared? It’s a good site.
https://james.darpinian.com/satellites/
They’re going across already, just been out and spotted 4 satellites easily. Earlier than the predicted time. Exactly the same path as yesterday. I will warn you it’s bitterly cold again.
I saw about 25 of them over Central London tonight. All of them were in a trail apart from one which was running a parallel course. Was a great sight!
Which direction do I need to look please?
