Colourful watches - yay or nay?

Gotta say I’m actually a fan of the Speedy MII as well. I think most colours are probably ok, if they’re done tastefully.

Yay for me, but I like a strong dial colour. This is my only colourful watch

I wish I had a wrist big enough for one of these!

You can never have enough colour! Sadly only one currently remains.

I presume the OP had 'bright' colours in mind (black is a colour, after all!), so generally it's a 'nay' from me (forgive me, I'm a little hoarse today )

I really don't like Orange watches, but I find yellow dialed watches appealing, but when I've bought them in the past, they've always languished in the watch box, so I've learnt my lesson there.

I like blue and black dials, generally (I'm not much of a fan of white dials, either, personally), although I do have some odd exceptions in my collection, including a tobacco (brown!) dialed MOD 7730 chrono and, of course, a green Alpinist.

The Speedmaster 'TinTin' always brings to mind the song 'Rotterdam' and the line 'Battle khaki personality with Red underwear', although in this case I think the Speedmaster has enough personality not to need the underwear!

Of course, as with most things, there are exceptions to most of those 'rules' (except Orange watches perhaps, I can't think of one I like off-hand)

Aye, from me. Men are generally constrained with colour choice (societal) in their clothing so accessories provide a nice contrast/relief.

  13. #63
I quite like a subtle injection of colour in an otherwise monochrome watch face, but I do find that new Breitling face a bit too much. Then again, I do believe in each to their own, so if someone else likes it and wants to wear it then all power to them.

I think that works! do you wear that as a daily?

I have an Air King and if I decide to keep it I might get the rubber B with the green in it.

Colourful watches - yay or nay?

A tiny bit of colour to liven up the dial goes a long way for me. Any more than that and you are treading a fine line between a nice watch and something that reminds me of a plastic swatch from the 90s.

I find it hard to stray from black/grey/dark blue dials....In fact I find it really hard to stray from black but I’m working on it

I really like this, with the rubber picking up the accent from the dial it looks like it could be OEM.

    Yay.

That OP's Zenith Rainbow is one of my favorites. But it's a bit small. The new one that they released is just way overboard huge. Shame. 42mm would be perfect.

    I have this colorful watch.
