Yes I've switched back and forth a few times already, although as my clothing in lockdown has consisted of pyjama trousers and a t-shirt every day, the colour of my watch strap is pretty irrelevant to worry about matching it! Agreed though that the black is a bit more versatile, but out of the two the bond does feel a bit comfier and less scratchy. It is a few months older so might have softened up more, but I think there might be a tiny amount of difference in where the holes are punched too which makes it fit my wrist slightly better (that could just be down to it being older too as the holes look pretty much aligned when the straps are laid side by side flat). The bond is very slightly too narrow so there's a tiny bit of gap at the springbar, but not enough to massively worry about - I've not measured but would guess it's 19mm rather than the 20mm it was supposed to be (and the packaging stated it was)

They're from Manic straps - a UK shop. Not bad quality for £10.80 with the 10% 'new customer' discount. They do regular natos too and MN straps I think from memory. The elastic single pass I've got also have an adjustable keeper too so you can easily tuck in the excess strap and they're not too long for my 6.75" wrist.

I tend to find that both of these as well as my Erika's Original elastic all can feel a bit scratchy after a while, but the bit of give in them does help with wrist swell fluctuations over the course of the day.

Hopefully in the future we get to have the old logo in the Everest

A bonus would be another (lol) updated hands with the same lume area width (either thinner minute hand or a bit thicker hour hand) just like most of the 1016's you can find in a simple Google search
    like this:

I had a quick go at it ... editing without a mouse is a swine :)

The latter is kind of like this "tropical" version where even the dial text is discoloured:
    https://amsterdamvintagewatches.com/...tropical-gilt/

Bob's have a good photo showing the hand lengths relative to each other here:
    https://www.bobswatches.com/vintage-...ical-dial.html

PS. We need to make this a non-Miyota edition. ETA / Sellita ?

Hot damn, thanks for these awesome mock-ups! That gilt dial is very interesting, especially knowing where it's referring to.

Thanks also for the references. :)

I would be up for that and almost definitley buy the watch again and happily pay more more for it.

    ETA/SElitta

    ?

That is perfect. I’m not normally a fan of a faux aged lume but with the retro logo the 36mm Everest would be perfection.

Agreed, with that logo and just that colour scheme, very nice.

That faux aged dial colouring cheapens the watch, awful.

I'd like one, even at 36 mm. I get where Magirus is coming from though if it were done well it might have the opposite effect to 'cheapens', maybe. After-all the Everest's are to one extent or another homage, pastiche productions, very thoughtfully and well made ones, and there is nowt wrong with that.

Can’t realistically see Eddie agree on the lume but I know the Smiths logo works better.

Faux lume is terrible. Worse than the rivets!

Quite an odd auto correct considering my usage of lume must be at least 20x that of lime.

That vintage version may not have been the best Photoshop, I just quickly copied a colour off the Rolex photo.

I think it could be done tastefully, but appreciate if some people are in the "no vintage lume ever" camp.

Personally I often like the warmer colour of vintage lumes ... since black & white can just look stark.

My favourite is the "old butter" lume on my Precista PRS-82, so it can be done well.

Some vintage lume applications look like someone poured caramel on the dial.
They appear to have a shiny texture to them that I don't think looks great...
e.g. GO SeaQ, some Montblanc 1858's.

Anyway, the crown logo does look nice. I wondered if the "De Luxe" should also be added to represent more of a premium product, or if that would just make it too busy / cluttered.

Just to change subject, I was bored so thought I'd switch up the strap on my Everest again today. First up was an Erika MN which I didn't think looked quite right. So I popped it on the bracelet and think that it's the best option to suit the watch head and the long lugs. Personally I'm not a fan of the rivets, but having owned a 'mark 1' with the adjustable clasp bracelet, certainly the lighter one on this 'mark 2' suits the size and weight of the watch head much more IMO.

Of course my thoughts are useless without pics (apologies for my ugly mug reflected in the crystal!):

The original Everest was my daily wear for seven years.

I bought the 36mm version with the old ratchet clasp last year and it was perfect. I even like the bracelet as it's the most secure and comfortable watch band I've ever worn.

But I'd buy that vintage version in a heartbeat.

I keep showing up at the site ahead of time for purchase, but it never comes up in stock. I really thought today was the day. I'm in Denver, CO and a night owl, so getting up at 6:30am on a Sunday isn't ideal, but I've done it three times now and it never works. Are people reserving these ahead of time somehow? I'm happy that the hands are updated though, so perhaps keeping me waiting is to my advantage.

The most recent batch sold out in one slug, I believe, when the shop opened on 19th April.

So now a few months to wait until the next delivery.

The logo text could be smaller, but I kinda like the current Everest dial like it is. Without the fake lume.

I agree. The dial printing and lume etc is perfect as it is for me.

I wouldn't say no to a quartz version though (sacrilege I know ...)

Hi, i'm a newbie from Turkey.

I've 3 questions guys. If it's talking before apologizes.

1-36mm everest prs-25 out of stock now. When will be available again?
2-Can i purchase via credit card option? Paypal has stopped its operations in Turkey. So paypal payment option isn't available for me.
3-Where can i buy for 36mm everest prs-25 perfectly fit jubilee bracelet? What's your opinion? Do you think jubilee bracelet proper option for that model?

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Answer for #1 would be August timeframe. #2 is a yes. Eddie does not take PayPal. As for #3 I don't really like bracelet so I really don't have an answer for you on that one, but I am sure that another forum member will have one.

August as per Eddies earlier post. I am sure that wasn't what you wanted to hear but it is certainly worth the wait, its that good of a watch. Of course there is always the white dial Everest or the Everest Expedition.

The white dial is sold out and the Expedition is almost sold out.

Superb as the the other 2 are, the expedition for me is just the pinnacle of all the watches produced by Eddie (or pretty much anyone else) that I have personally owned. It executes the vintage style with modern day specifications perfectly.

    2. TF has never used Paypal, use your card.
    3. A Jubilee bracelet has no place on an Everest. IMHO.

    Pretty sad to hear...
If I am lucky enough and got the unbelievable situation that wouldn't fit well in live and I return it, the shipping cost back to Eddie is at the expense of me. But is the initial shipping cost refunded or I would lost the the shipping cost twice plus the card processing fee?

If you're asking whether or not you would be refunded the original shipping cost if you returned a watch because you didn't like it, then you wouldn't. Why should I stand the shipping cost because you decided you don't like it?

Hey you know that item I wanted and you paid to have it shipped to me? Yeah well turns out I don't want it. I'll pay the shipping to get it back to you but can I get a refund of the original shipping you paid because I changed my mind? Lol
