Hi very new here, what would the wait time be on a new hulk? Have been thinking this would be a good investment.

Wait time at an AD depends on purchase History and Luck... With limited history it could be years of wait, if ever. With luck it could be shorter....

Trouble is, an awful lot of other people think the same which is why you won't be able to get one at list anytime soon, unless you have a lot of money to spend on stuff you don't want to sweeten an AD.

    Good luck getting one.

That’s the problem with Rolex, it took me so long to get my hulk and it was very satisfying finally getting it but very hard to let go of! I think mine might appear in SC in the next couple of days to help fund a house move (will keep the BLRO).

They’re easy to sell but hard to replace

    Congrats on 250 posts :)

I’m curious to ask why sell the Hulk vs BLRO? (I would do the same) just interested in hearing the reasoning!

    Thanks

Thank you! Im not 100% if it will have to go yet, I’m deciding between two houses (if I can get my offer accepted) and one a fair bit more expensive, a premium to be in a more desirable area. I would need to sell one watch and probably not lease a new car next time round to make it work so it’s one that’s hard to make a decision on! My instinct tells me that not many people I know have regretted buying the best house they possibly could.

In terms of BLRO vs LVC my opinion is the following:

-the BLRO looks stunning in pictures, and great in real life
-The LVC looks okay in pictures, and stunning in real life
-The GMT function is genuinely useful for me
-The LVC looks amazing with a plain black / white top but clashes with colours
-The GMT is more likely to compliment other clothes and can be worn my easily with a suits due to the colour and strap
-The Jubilee strap is more comfortable and can be worn in a variety of situations. I’m on the fence as to whether I’d prefer the Oyster longer term, but I could always put one on the BLRO

Thanks for explaining! I’ve been on the fence for a while now between the jubilee and oyster bracelets.

Agreed the BLRO looks amazing in pictures - need to see one in real like on the jubilee to get a feel for it!

Get your point around the LVC colour clash - it definitely stands out and makes it a bit more difficult to pair with clothes (unless you have a range of green outfits!)

Good luck with the house hunt hope it all goes well!

    Thanks
    S

No more than a couple of weeks. Don’t forget to negotiate a discount off list price. You should also get some freebies thrown in to sweeten the deal: Bottle of champagne, first service for free, flights to Rolex HQ. The AD will probably look to get you a ceramic Daytona next as reward for being a valued customer.

The Hulk is an insanely over-hyped watch in my eyes. Even Watch finder had this below retail back in day, then the world went crazy and the ugly ducklings became desirable.

Thanks! I have quite a few navy suits and it does not go well at all. I did buy a Longines to wear with suits at one point, but not being a morning person I used to get ready in a rush so never changed watches, it ended up getting sold.

When I first decided I wanted a Rolex I tried a Hulk on in Fraser Hart which was sitting in the cabinet. I loved it and at the time decided it wasn't for me and that I should buy something more sensible (black sub) as my main watch. When I had saved up the funds a couple of years later I changed my mind and thought the hulk was more unique, by then the waiting list fun had started.

Back when these were available at a discount, which watches were selling above retail? I thought most could be had under retail before everything drastically changed.

Thank you. I bought a macro lens for my phone to get some really nice shots of my collection. Unfortunately it’s now looking likely I’ll be selling all my watches if I want to keep my home.
