Tag Heuer Monaco prices!!!

Hi,
I’ve been toying with purchasing a Monaco (11calibre) for a while. Having checked prices today it would seem that they are going lots cheaper than RRP. One Chrono dealer is selling them new for £3500. They aren’t UK AD but even so is that normal ? Even U.K. AD are £4700. Has lots changed or have just had my head in the sand? Are the cheaper sellers considered “grey” . Would this bugger me come service time?

Grey dealers are basically any second hand watch sellers who buy stock (maybe slow moving etc) from the main dealers and sell them for reduced prices, even if they are technically brand new watches. Shouldn't make any difference come Service time.

If you stick within the UK or EU no additional VAT to pay. Just avoid places like the US or the Far East for that reason, unless the deal is that good.

I used to watch the prices of these when I was planning to buy one, although I appear to have moved on.

The likes of Chronext and Montredo were about £3150 2 years ago, although they have got more expensive with an increase in rrp and weakening pound v Euro. If I was buying one today, I would use a grey dealer through Chrono24, the warranty would be activated by the AD, and it avoids a futile face to face negotiation.

He is referring to Sales Corner, a part of the forum you will be able to access when your post count goes above 50, although I think it’s a 250 post count before you can start a thread on it.

A good friend of mine asked me for help in sourcing a new McQueen Monaco Calibre 11 and I found him a 35% discount through an Italian dealer on Chrono24. He’s a happy chap.

No issues with warranty or servicing... full box and papers with the Tag international warranty.

I've posted a couple of watches recently and they aren't guaranteeing the 1pm delivery during the Covid-19 crisis. Both mine turned up on time but I think it was just luck.

Well mine was on target for same day and then they sent it to an entirely irrelevant sorting office, said that they had made an error and it would be immediately redirected to me and then decided to take to entirely the wrong address and then return to sender as I wasn’t in. All in the same day!!

In a few months once a sense of normalcy is resumed. If I could get 35% of a calibre 11 I’ll be over the moon. The RRP on these are crazy now.
