    Smiths Everest 36 Vs 40mm

    Hi all,

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section etc.

Just reaching out to see if anybody else had the same dilemma prior to pulling the trigger on the PRS-25?

FYI I have a 7" wrist and current daily driver is a Speedy Pro on a NATO. I'd also switch the Everest onto a NATO I'm sure. I prefer my watches on the sportier side.
Lug to Lug on the 40mm Everest seems to be on the large side.

    Cheers

    Phil

I've got the 36mm on my 7" wrist, and it's perfect. By the way, give me my arm back (looks just like mine!)

Spot on, do you wear yours on the bracelet or on a strap?

Bracelet. I can't photo it on my wrist at the moment because I'm in the midst of swapping bracelets with another member at this moment.

You are right that it would probably get better feedback on the TimeFactors part of the forum but since it here and I'm here then I would tell you to get the 36mm. It is in my opinion the perfect size of watch. The 40mm is just huge in its specs and that is why I bought the 36mm. The 36mm is out of stock at the moment but should be in stock in the hopefully not to distant future. The new stock coming in is also going to have the new handset so that is a added bonus.

I have a 7" wrist and have both versions. Spec sheets are notorious for giving false impressions of how watches should wear sizewise. The 40mm version doesn't wear as large as the numbers might suggest. That said, they are quite different watches. I regard the larger version as a legible watch to wear overnight and for outdoor activities. The smaller gives the vintage vibe of the unaffordable 1016. I wear the 40mm on Natos and the 36mm stays on the bracelet, although that was on leather or Nato for a year until Eddie brought out the much more svelte and appropriate rivet style bracelet. The original came off the second I opened the box and still had the wrappers on when I gave it away to a member here in return for a donation to Eddie's Fundraiser. Also I happily switch between 36,40 and 42mm watches ( Datejust, CWC G10s, Dreadnought Voyager) with no problem. In fact now that I'm used to not caring what day of the week it is I'm going to switch from the Damasko DC56 I've had on since the lockdown started and put the 36mm on.

PS. Did I mention they look good on anything? ;-)

Thanks for the explanation Magirus. They do indeed all look good, a real 'Strap monster' i think the term is

A 38mm would split the difference beautifully.
