    Google Pop Up Ads

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any way to block these ads. I get a new one every time I switch pages on TZ. I block each one individually but it's driving me crackers. Apart from anything else, they obscure the bottom part of each page!

I appreciate there are bigger problems in life, but if there's an easy fix...

    Thanks

I see a lot of ads for ladies underwear and fashion It's a hard life at times!

No doubt someone will be along with a fix soon.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

What device are you using - phone, tablet or PC? Which browser or is it on Tapatalk?

Use Firefox with UBlock Origin, Privacy Badger & NoScript & you wan't suffer any adverts.

Exactly the same problem using Safari, they are slowly becoming more invasive.

MS Edge seems to have the UBlock Origin & Privacy Badger addons available so try those.

On the plus side, since the pop ups appeared the top 2 threads now open no problem.

Thanks for this tip, UBlock Origin certainly did the trick. I am now no longer trying to view TZ through a letter box!

They are getting very very annoying....on an iPad and no issues on any other website so obviously TZ related.

Yes, had become used to the banner at the bottom on TZ and understand that site advertising may be a revenue stream. But in the last couple of days things have got much worse. I had resisted installing some form of ad blocking in the past and in my mind assumed that letting these appear would support the site...now I am re-thinking.

Does anybody know whether they are bringing revenue in for Eddie / the site? That may change a few people's minds (including me) on whether we block them!

As said pi-hole is your friend. An eBay gen 1 Raspberry Pi is good enough.

It's just started happening to me to this morning with Safari on iPhone. Tried the usual (logging out, clearing cache and cookies, etc) but it still comes back whether I'm in mobile or 'full site' mode 🤬

Yes had that a few times today. I was on 4G at the time and when I switched mobile data off it seemed to disappear.

I realise that Tapatalk isn't for everyone, but I don't get any pop ups on it using an android phone. There are some adverts between posts, but they are not pop up, and don't obscure anything, just scroll on by.

Interesting. Where I was earlier in the house the wifi can be a bit patchy so I'll try it again closer to a strong wifi signal and see if it helps at all.

I was intrigued by what appeared to be an advert for butt plugs popping up at the bottom of the screen. Turned out to be foreverspin spinning tops.

That’s exactly what I did. Seems to have worked so far. I often have the 4G on anyway so I don’t forget when I go out but I’ve seen it flit from 4G to WiFi more often recently so now leave it on WiFi as we’re not really going out anyway.

Yep Tapatalk seems fine on home WiFi but main site via safari/WiFi is the problem

Indeed, just got round to trying it and fine on wifi but not on mobile. How odd!
