    Messing about with LEGO

I got a box of old LEGO out this afternoon, and made this...

It's a Tensegrity Structure for the uninitiated... a floating structure using (in this instance) cotton thread under tension to hold equilibrium.

I was quite impressed by that. And have now been looking up Tensegrity Structures which I knew nothing about

I know exactly what you mean. There's something about the taste of green apples which makes me go all tense just looking at them.

Doesn't everyone, at the moment ?

Sorry... I meant most people. There are those heroes that don't wear capes working to make the rest of us feel safe

Thanks! That’s awesome, going to give me something to do for the next couple of hours working that one through.

Had a quick go at my own this morning, with help from my seven year old (and his big box of dismantled Star Wars Lego kits).

Ours can't take the weight of an apple, owing to the way I'd wrapped off the cotton - using the pins like tuning pegs to allow easy length adjustment.
    But he's still impressed...

Good stuff... I tied the centre string, but wound the support string around pins to make it easy to tension them.

    I think those are fantastic!

There is a definite market for sculptures and desk toys like that I feel - and there don't really seem to be any according to Google.

I'd buy a cool desk toy based on that principle.
So clever my foot fell off.
