Yes, a few minutes of seeing a few fly over is amazing. Circling for a duration is a headache!

Not seen one for ages now, thinking about it.

They were flying in a very leisurely fashion at about 700 feet and were really quite quiet in comparison to others I have seen .

I was walking the dog this morning up on The Pilgrim's Way and saw what looked like a Piper Navajo get bounced by a Spitfire V - or perhaps IX. They then circled for a few minutes while the Spit made a number of passes over the Piper. I took this picture, but there are better ones of a UFO.

It's beginning to look like he may have been tipped off by Chain Home about the ME262 and is getting some last minute tactical training in.

Funnily enough, you can just about see the remaining tower of RAF Dunkirk from where I was - and that covered the entire Thames Estuary.

There was something fast and pointy doing some lazy aero’s yesterday towards RAF Fairford. It did a reasonably slow and low pass over work and I struggled to ID it. It had the wing shape of a phantom , but didn’t look big enough, or sound noisy enough. Nothing on Flightradar24 at the time. I know the Greeks had a couple of RF-4’s displaying at the weekend and nothing else I can think of has the wing shape and overall geometry of the phantom.

We had a MC130J Commando II (Spooky) over West London today.
It was about 20,000 but was clearly visible trundling overhead.

There are 6 Eurofighters out over the North Sea following a circling Airbus. Practicing mid-air refuelling at a guess.

Why nearly thousand people are tracking a random Ryanair flight out of Bournemouth escapes me.

But it is the most popular flight in the world to be tracked at the moment!

    Over in Germany: AD-S link

I'm not sure what they are doing but it may be some sort of NATO exercise or event.

Edit: Possibly a parachute drop for Exercise Green Griffin 23. See this link for pictures from 2021 and some background info.

A cost saving exercise that I believe is totally wrong, all it’s done is water down the pool of countries pilots that are on strength and current. We have a Draken in Teeside with the Honey Badgers as the aggressor force for the UK.

Which app do you guys use? I’ve got Plane Finder but it’s hit and miss whether it can see the police helicopter going overhead. We’re near the base and it goes over a few times per day.

Saw the Italian navy flight up to Wembley and back and few days ago, didn’t land. Curious to see the RAF around in batches of what looks like training on different aircraft types - one group in single propeller, another in dual, and a couple in actual jets.

I use https://globe.adsbexchange.com/. Always on the web (rather than an app) and I have created a shortcut on the home screen (using the right-click option in Chrome) on my Android devices that covers the SE of England (where I live). From there I can explore further afield and use the 'U' option to isolate the military aircraft.

Five Eurofighter Typhoons of the E & NE Coast of England plus a Airbus KC3. I guess manoeuvres going on. Either that or Russian nuclear apocalypse is just about to begin.

After 49 years of sterling service the last operational Gazelle is heading into retirement. Probably on route to Fleetlands for rebuilding prior to sale.

It makes me feel old as it was 1988 that I unstrapped from my last flight after a few years of great fun flying them.

This crew is a long way from home.

Could not see it due to cloud but could hear it go over.

With storm Ciarán there is over 200+ mph Atlantic Jet stream at the moment.

Some records may be broken on the fastest subsonic transatlantic JFK-LHR flight durations.

Less than 5hrs 30mins for this one.

Currently at Mildenhall, 64-14836 is a USAF Constant Phoenix 'Nuke Sniffer'. Last move on 30 Oct..link...seems to have overflown USS Gerald R Ford and USS Dwight D Eisenhower, the two US nuclear powered aircraft carriers in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Pretty certain a pair of Rockwell B1s have just gone over my house on full afterburner…. HOLY HELL what an impressive noise
    Almost rearranged my organs
Not on flight checkers… anyone else heard it can confirm?

They are indeed at Fairford at the moment, another of the Bomber deployments there. They typically last around 6 weeks.

    See https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=43c5ec.

The A400 makes a very particular noise. I regularly hear their flight from Brize to, I presume, Germany, and a friend north of London hears it on its return.

That's the one, thank you. It's always difficult to estimate the altitude but I'd be surprised if it was much over 1000 ft. The funny thing about the noise is that I heard it quite late, hence why the photo sees him flying away.

Click the K and it shows as about 650 ft around Ashford.
