It will probably be a succession of fly-bys. Bladon, in Oxfordshire, had one scheduled for today ISTR.

Just been buzzed by 3 Chinook and 5 Apache

Probably not. Probably just on the same ‘training trip’ (ie jolly) through the helilanes.

Pretty sure this was a special flight as it was not in the helilanes outside them (heading Straight for Northolt and not along the north circular as usual) and a lot lower than would be expected (200 feet) they were also all in tighter formation than usual. The Chinock in a V, the Apaches in trail.

    See: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao...ace=2023-05-15

Two Chinooks flying to Luton and Chequers. BBC News shows a picture of Zelensky with one in the background. These two were trackable while the third (carrying Zelensky?) and the Apache were not (I looked).

We were treated to a spitfire (hurricane?) doing a loop just over our head this morning when walking the dog. Possibly treating a passenger, but a joy to watch regardless (south east of Ashford, around 11:10)

We were treated to six of these, all hovering and maneuvering at tree level a couple of weekends ago.

They were all pointing at the old base at Caerwent. They were there about 15 minutes and then disappeared over the Bristol channel, heading home I would guess.

I had hoped that it was carrying a support team for one of their more exotic aircraft (ER-2 or WB-57F) prior to a foreign deployment. Then I saw that it's transporting something for the US Navy.

Couldn't see them on the ADS-B but spotted 2 B1 Lancers in the skies today not far from my house , presumably just taken off from Fairford?

Yeah they’re on a detachment to Fairford at the moment. One of these agile deployments like the B-52s did a few months back. I suspect there’s some tie up with the NATO exercises out North Sea direction too.

How was it? Would of liked to have gone. Great weather for it if not a little too hot.

As commented above these two followed the USS Gerald R Ford from the Atlantic, up the Channel and the North Sea to Scandanavia where the ship visited Oslo and her escort went to Gothenburg. While that was going on the C2 Greyhounds visited Prestwick, Oslo Gardermoen, Flughafen Sylt and Hohn Air Base.

Both ships transited the Channel again last night and are now somewhere in the Western Approaches with the C2s following them: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao...ace=2023-06-12

Well it was brilliant I didn’t go but this year most things overflew us east west which does not normally happen they usual go north south.

Didn’t see the Battle of Britain flight but they overflew us last week.

A beautiful piece of iconic engineering that has its name etched in many an eyebrow raising F540. To the darkest places and brightest parties.

Ouch. Two hours of a Chinook is pretty obnoxious, by any standards.
