What 30 years does to a Rolex Bezel........

Never noticed this before but sitting in the sun this morning I noticed the bezel on my 16610 was showing a brown/burgundy hue.

I give you my 30 year old sub date

    Cheers,

    Ben

    Nice Ben .

Lume is turning as well , give it another 25 years or so for the full on Patina effect

Mine is also 30 years old, but no bezel change like yours! Really lovely colour to it.

The lume on mine has yellowed nicely and the dial has patinated though - very pleasingly so to me.

    Nicely nicely.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Is the fade consistent all around the bezel?

Looks great... one thing I’’ve wondered about for some time, odd though it perhaps may be: what does it feel like? I presume it’s lost the glossy feel of an insert in regular condition?

My 32 year old GMT bezel below.
I'm currently wearing the watch with an all black bezel just for a change.

Yes, when the sun is on it.

Indoors it looks like any normal black bezel.

I guess the new ceramic bezels will still look new in 30 years, unless exposed to extreme physical abuse.
