Thread: Monitor Power Lead

    Monitor Power Lead

    All,

I've just opened this monitor for work (not supplied by work)

Dell P2419HC 24" Full HD Ultra thin Bezel IPS LED Monitor (16:9 Ratio, USB-C, Response Time 5m/s) - Black

Very usefully, i have been sent the wrong power lead. The prongs on the monitor are flat whereas the plug openings / holes where it connects are cylindrical.

To the boffins on here, would this be ok as as replacement?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RMHJT...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

C13 IEC 320 Kettle Power Cable Lead H05VV-F UK Mains Cord for Printer Monitor PS3 PS4 Xbox Desk Computer 3 Meter 3 * 0.75mm²

I have emailed the seller but as they are in Germany if they do send a lead it won't come for some time.

Any advice or assistance you could give would be greatly appreciated?

    Best,

    Ben

    Hello

    Many thanks Hafle,

I'm glad i looked closely at the connections and didn't try and force it, stupid me just assumed it would be sent with the right lead!

Oh well, not the end of the World obviously!

Best wishes to you and yours,

    Ben

Sounds like it was shipped with a C5 lead instead of C13.

do you not have anything else in the house with an IEC lead that you can try with?

That's one expensive IEC lead! If you can wait I can probably send you a standard 6ft one for free. The only thing is I can't post it until tomorrow so I'm not sure when it would arrive.

    Hello

Just googled that and yes, that's what they've done.

It’s almost certainly a C14 inlet on the monitor, which mates with a C13 plug on the end of the flying lead. There are pictures here:

UK 3 pin plugs conform to BS1363 so you should be fine with that lead. A bit pricey, mind.

    Cheers,

    Monitor Power Lead

Where abouts are you? I’m in NW London and I can leave one on my doorstep if you are nearby and want to pick up

E.g. Old/spare television, monitor, printer or audio equipment lying around in your/neighbour's/friend's garage/loft? (Or even an old fashioned kettle that has been upgraded but kept 'just in case'.)

Ben, how is Binfeld for you? I’ve got a PS3 lead I’m not using at all, which looks to be the same?
