    RIP - John Prine

I see that he did not make it through the virus and complications so gone at 73 the superb singer / songwriter John Prine one of Country/Americana’s unique talents a true loss to American music.

I think there are going to be so many RIP threads sadly. Thoughts with his family.

I’m sure his flag decal will get him in.
    One of the best.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

RIP John Prine. I became aware of him after hearing Natalie Merchant's version of 'Hello in There.' A hugely talented guy and true gentleman. Here's an example of his self-deprecating humour and a song (in his latter years so cut him some slack):

Perhaps more relevant today than it ever was. RIP John.

My Twitter was full of him this morning - and I've never heard of him. Is there a particularly good album to start with?

Saw him at Cambridge Folk Festival a few years ago. One of those musicians who was more highly regarded by fellow musicians (Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash...) than by the record-buying public.

Cheers, mart - I'll have a look. You, too.
