I'd be on the waiting list for one of those - is a watch I have been hoping Tudor would consider producing following on from the BB58.
Likewise, It would be as close to a 1016 as you could get.
200m is a bit ott spec wise. IMO 150m is more than enough. I quite like the Black Bay collared crown - but with the collar matched to the case finish and just a tad shorter than the current BB36 collar.Bit more tinkering.....

Thinking about it, my Ranger gets worn a hell of a lot, when I want a plain watch that I don’t mind getting a bit mucky. I thought I’d have sold it on by now, but really like it.
In 36mm it would be possibly too small for me, as my wife has a Tag of that size and it doesn’t feel quite right.

This one including warm lume, add 2mm to 37mm, and without date. Keep the clasp slim with a simple fold over like old style Tudor/Rolex.

For me the Ranger is a very good watch but it just has some things missing that stopped it being a keeper for me after 18 months of ownership and use as my every day watch.
Firstly it’s a shade too big for its design; the bezel is very thin and the case very circular, resulting in a bit of a ‘dinner plate’ look and with a fair amount of empty real estate on the dial. Secondly, because of the very circular case shape the tubed Black Bay crown sticks out too much (whereas it sits much more flush against actual BB cases). Finally, the straight end link bracelet - whilst well made, doesn’t work aesthetically. I wanted to love it, buy in the end these things were deal breakers.
Tudor are so close to a winner with this watch. Scale it down to 38mm (with 20mm bracelet), give it a flush crown and fitted end links. Really that’s all they need to do. If you wanna nit-pick they could also replace the smiley ‘self winding’ text with the word Ranger.
It would sell like hot cakes - a genuine modern reissue of the classic Ranger and a watch closer to the original Explorer that inspired it than the modern Explorer itself. But, I think such a revamp would make it such an atttactive alternative to the Explorer that ultimately Rolex would steer away from doing this.
