If you can access (you can see flights for free) Flightradar24, although air traffic around the world in sparse, you can keep an eye on all the rescue flights going on.
You know they are rescue flights because the airline never usually flies there.
For example their is a Lufthansa A380 and 747 both over Australia and en-route to Auckland and Christchurch respectively, and a Swissair coming back from Vientiane.
Makes for interesting viewing.
Yes so little traffic my wife and I can basically guess the flight as it goes over - even the cargo planes!
