With Govt added money it was £125.
I did this with the wife and kids, we picked a couple of horses each on an each way bet, between us we got 2nd and 3rd... not huge wins but they were then donated to the NHS.
I thought it was a great idea and really enjoyed it, especially Red Rum wining the champions race, that was my first real memory of the National.
