To me, yes. Bucketloads of the stuff.

Is there any damage or wear? No. Because it was never worn.

This is my point. Patina does not need wear or damage.

Of course you can disagree, but you'd be wrong

That has to be about the nicest Speedmaster I have ever seen, incredible. That Base 1000 insert is beyond words and probably money too.

You have said what I would say, what a Speedmaster, absolutely stunning watch and the value must be stratospheric as I imagine it has box & papers..

    Some nice examples here.
In general I agree that patina = natural aging and wabi= signs of uses/abuse and wear.
On a related note, I have several vintage watches with fair amount of patina and wabi and am a good listener and have a reasonable acuity of hearing but no watch has ever told me a story. But then watches don’t sing to me either:-)

I don't think that would have been Radium in 1964 TBH.
    Cheers,

Mmm, 1963-1964 was classed as the transitional stage when they phased out radium to tritium. I know when I was looking for a early GMT I did a fair bit of reading up about it and to be certain of ruling out radium I was only looking at watches post 1964, could be wrong and stand to be corrected.

That is really stunning. But that endlink gap though (normal back in the day, I know) ...
