SKX mod. First time I did it myself!

    This is a 2010 SKX.

It started its life as an 009 from Rob (Monsterwatches). After a year or so, I asked Rob to give it the ‘luxury treatment’: an SKX 171 dial, the hands from a first gen. Samurai and a crystal upgrade.

I’ve worn this watch for years and years. At the same time, my eyesight went from good to bad. Last winter I had to have eye surgery. (I could drive anymore, all was blurry, items close to me became hazy as well). The successful surgery turned all back to normal.

To celebrate this, I decided to buy parts from Long Island Watch: a Pepsi bezel and a coin-edge bezel. My first attempt to mod a watch myself.

Here’s the result. I’m quite happy.

There seems to be a huge gap between the bezel insert and the crystal, is that intentional?

    Looks great.

Looking to do something similar to my SKX013 - did the parts take a while to arrive?

That's the shape of the crystal. When I'm brave enough to tackle that, I'll go back to an original Seiko hardlex

It starts this way, next will be a dial change, then the crystal, then you buy a new skx just to mod.
    Been there......

Looks good. Many chamges, stil a Seiko.

The Crafter Blue strap works really well with the SKX, it's shaped, curved to fit the watch

    - IMHO

    Nice bezel!

Now I'm not suggesting you should dive in and do more.....but.........

Oh no, not tempting you to do that at all...............
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
