What am I missing...£30k for a ‘limited edition’ which is just a caseback engraving for a military Squadron? I mean...it’s a well made engraving but worth nearly £25k over and above the RRP for the watch?

I think the add on value or premium depends on who did the engraving and why. Clearly we all know about Comex and Milsubs and the prices that they fetch, but they were issued watches to be worn by certain individuals. A bog standard Rolex Explorer with some engraving on the back shouldn't add £25k in my opinion unless it was known to be an exclusive edition made by Rolex themselves. I think Haywood has something with helicopters on it if I remember rightly, but others add very little.
That Milgauss is just horrible, a complete waste of a good watch.

Thanks...I’m intrigued as normally military “limited” runs don’t really add much value to a watch. The engraving looks pretty good quality rather than a laser etch. It appears to be a special edition run of 48 for a military unit and the service name and number on the back. I’m surprised Rolex did a 48 sports-watch run at all. Must be special!
I had a chance to buy one of these watches for £10k on eBay but went to pay and it had just gone ! I was in contact with the buyer. I think it is on watches for £15k
