    Another Seiko 62mas modern reissue

The bezel insert is possibly a touch on the thick side, which is the only thing that makes me question whether I should get one. They look even better in the real life pictures that are starting to come out rather than the original promo shots - the gilt version looks amazing.

I’ve also seen some close up shots of the case and the finishing looks very nice indeed. Just need to wait for the prices to come down a bit

The bezel does look a bit thick. I wonder how it's sales will.compare to the MM200 models.

I think it will blow sales of the MM200 and the first modern 62mas out of the water - doesn’t have a tuna handset holding it back.

Like I say, if I was being really picky i could have a problem with the bezel, but other than that theres not much to dislike

Really like it but so wish they’d do a version with no date - somehow Seiko get date windows all wrong for me.

I'd love a no date Seiko diver. The day date on the Turtles really puts me off as it's an extra thing to set each time you wear it. I can handle date only but would love a no date.

These pictures are stunning. I really want to see one in the flesh before pulling the trigger. I guess with the current environment it’s going to be a while before I can do that....

The only 62MAS issue I like is the sla017 which is out of my league but I’d rather save and wait till I can afford it

  14. #64
    Like that a lot.
Just checked prices on Gnomon, and the first photo made it look like it was on a jubilee or president bracelet - now THAT would be great!

If they have the SBP147 (the vintage lume one) I’d *love* to see real pics of that!

Looking forward to July when they become available.

Ever since I saw news of this watch, been deferring any other impulse buy.

The reviewer really gushes about it. I’m finding it very difficult to resist putting an order online...

Mine was opened by HMRC and they have damaged the box. Not sure who is liable here as I want the set in unblemished state, I'll hear back tomorrow from the Thai vendor, HMRC seem to want nothing to do with it and the courier company are saying they aren't responsible for what HMRC do when they open it!

Was bought on Amex so I have protection at least

Thanks for sharing. Looks fabulous. I will wait for the price to go down a bit and maybe get one then.

Don't HMRC sub contract this to the shipping agent?

Whats the tax situation? Gnomon list their price in Dollars so assuming there's VAT to pay at UK customs?

Anyone know of a UK or Euro vendor so the extra tax can be avoided?

From what I’ve read you’ll pay tax on anything imported from a Far East dealer. Jura are offering them in the UK...

Jura has it available for preorder (as well as the 147)

But they have already sold their full allocation. Having recently purchased a couple of watches from Jura, I asked them to let me know when the 143 was available for pre-order. They didn’t bother, of course, and when I asked, i was informed that they’d all gone. I’d caution against buying via the Jura website, they still seem to be taking the money with no watches to allocate against the order...you could be in for a long wait with your cash tied up.

This is what put me off pre-ordering with them. I asked if the watch was in stock (I know the answer, just wanted to see the response)...

“this piece is available to order directly from the brand, meaning you would have a brand-new timepiece fresh from the production line.

    Delivery is approx. July”

Seemed a bit opened ended for me to put a grand their way....

Yeah sometimes it does - plus it’s always gonna suffer when you put it next to the SLA, as that one is so much better in every department.

My minor concerns about the bezel pretty much disappeared when I watched the video review earlier in this thread as it looks great all the way through.

These are apparently being selling like hotcakes - it seems even an LE of 5500 will not satisfy demand, so if anyone is really after one, you may have to go the import route.

I didn’t even notice it had a blue dial until you mentioned it, so I guess “yes”

As soon as they are back in stock these seem to sell out again at Gnomon and Seiya.

Really fancy a 147 Gilt Dial, the blue doesn't pop enough for me and the gold touches look forced.

Bought the gilt dial 147 today. It is a stunner in the flesh with the dial a dark brown and the bezel with a brushed finish. Bezel action is very nice and all lines up. First experience with newer Seiko rubber straps and it is very pliable and comfortable. The crystal raises above the bezel and looks great. Got 30% off so paid about 500 pounds. A great watch. Sold a MM200, Green sumo and cocktail time. Don miss any now.

GW Cox in Adelaide - sorry in Australia. That is his standard discount but the guy 'knows people' and sources some JDM with that discount and a local 3 year warranty. A good AD to have around.

I love my 62mas style reissue or whatever you will call it.

Much prefer it to all the turtle, samurai, tuna Seiko that I had

    Excellent!

Probably the pick of the bunch too, at least of the new models for me - would most definitely have bought at that price. No trip to Australia for me this year with Covid though :(

Zimbe version of the 147 is apparently being released with no date and I think with a SS bracelet as well. Nothing conformed yet so no images. That's got to be about perfect.

Would be amazing to see a nice no date diver from Seiko. That will be so popular.
