Thank you to everyone who took part, extra big thank you to everyone who provided regular updates, and an enormous thank you to Murdoc and Captain RockNRoll for keeping their mechanicals going for the whole time. Having got mine only to the halfway point, I know what it needed of them.

My favourite was Murdoc's Snowflake - the only Spring Drive entered and a stone cold classic - it was a pleasure to see the very regular photos of that. I also enjoyed that it spent almost the whole period getting closer to correct time, not going away

The challenge is simple: can your watch go through the 30 weeks until the clocks go back to GMT at the end of October without needing adjusting?

There are different classifications: Quartz, HAQ, Spring Drive, Mechanical and sub-£1,000 Mechanical.

For the HAQ, the expectation is that the watches won't need adjusting, the competition will be purely the accuracy over the 7 months. For regular quartz, part of the challenge will be whether it stays accurate enough for you not to need to correct it.

For mechanicals, there's also the much harder challenge of keeping the thing going at all. How you manage this is up to you - automatic winding, hand winding, electric winder, all are permissible.

I think last year only one mechanical made it through, Sean's Explorer I. I would love to see something like an 8 day Panerai entered.

Forgot to say, little nudges for balancing the gain and loss are wholly valid. Eg once every ten days or so, I rest my OCG crown up overnight. It's been running since mid Feb and is still bang on.

Though anyone who's prepared to spend 7 months just taking what they're given will get plenty of respect!

Mechanical under £1000 - Seiko ‘Save the ocean’ turtle.

Hopefully I don’t get too OCD with the date. Fingers crossed. If only the mechanical had an independent hour hand, life would be much easier. I don’t think travel will be much of a factor....

I’m considering another mechanical, my IWC. I’ll have a think of worth doing, maybe doable with lockdown to rotate both mechanicals.

Pic taken with my Frogman - all 5 of my atomic Gs are syncing the same, so I’ll use that as a reference!

I’ve always wondered how my radio controlled G Shock would fare with the auto sync off. So I’ll join in with my GW-5000. It synced this morning so is spot on, I’ll turn the auto sync off today and see how it runs naturally with no help from the Anthorn Radio Station.

Thanks, I’ve had a couple of spring drives in the past (a 600m Marinemaster - whatever happened to those, don’t see many about nowadays; and a GS Diver). Over around a month I couldn’t tell whether they were gaining or losing, they were bang on.

I haven’t had it long, but this Snowflake seems to gain a couple of seconds per week. I’m also interested to see how consistent it is over a longer period.

The Longines is now +18 seconds(in hindsight I wish I'd set it behind as a few here did as I already knew it gains). Gaining around 3 s/p/d which I guess isn't bad for a 44 year old hummer.

The Speedy MK2 I knew kept good time but I never timed it to see just how good. Currently just +12 seconds so a gain of just over 1.5 s/p/d. Extremely good.

With the crown pulled out, light reverse pressure can stop the second hand on non-hacking movements, at least it works on my Speedy.
