Scratch the above, it’s now letting me add to bag! Change of thread to what do people think of it?
My son loves JH and is always showing me stuff connected to him. Anyway he came up with this today (link below) and I can’t stop looking at it. It would also be a watch I would wear regularly.
It says it’s limited to 500 pieces but is it likely to be hard to pick up? Don’t mind paying RRP but won’t be paying a premium if it will attract one.

Decent looking watch but don't see any connection value to Hendrix!

From the Goldsmith's blurb:
'His famous 1968 white Fender Stratocaster inspired many of the dial’s details, including the ten dotted index markers that mimic the frets on his guitar neck...'
...except they mimic the design of the pick-ups, not the frets.
How much is it? Really!

Thanks folks, can’t imagine him wearing any watch tbh and he was a leftie so any true tribute should perhaps follow suit. I will sleep on it now for now I think...
To invoke Hendrix's spirit, get a psychedelic watch.

I'm a massive Jimi fan but most of the "Authentic Hendrix" stuff that Janie Hendrix is putting out is crap.
She's not even a blood relative of Jimi's. Her Mother was Japanese her Father was white. Her Mother later married Al Hendrix, Jimi's Father.
Now she controls Jimi's whole estate keeping it from his blood relatives.
She'll license anything, she's a parasite.
Cheers,
Neil.
There's just nothing in the character of the watch that makes me think of Hendrix. Even the Strat pickup batons are the wrong shape. But no surprises there really, because the AC/DC one they did had nothing in common with that band's image other than the logo on the dial. Ditto the Bowie one.
Might as well get any bog standard watch, call it the John Lennon limited edition and it will sell like hot cakes. I agree this watch has absolutely no connection to Jimi Hendrix other than a cheap money maker.
Anyone bought the Brian May Seiko yet 😂😂
Wow that something to know!
Regarding the watch did they not do a Beatles limited edition previously?
Compared to brands like ML and Frederique Constant (Brands in a similar price bracket who seem to be sold along side one another) I honestly dont know what RW contribute, those other brands are streets ahead.
Does it come with lighter fluid?
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
Total disgrace, no real fan would even contemplate buying it.
I think it’s design is something to do with the outfit he wore at Woodstock or something ?

No I haven't.
But consider that it's less than a quarter the price of this.
It is fully in-house made (I very much doubt that is the case with Raymond Weil).
Perhaps most importantly it has the full endorsement (and supposedly design input) of the man himself, not some distant relative twice removed or whatever she is.
Brian May is a well documented Seiko wearer.
If Jimi were still alive he'd say "Raymond who?".

Heh mr businessman you can’t look like me…
Snotting heck…!
Neil's correct. Sadly, as with many artists who die before their time, their legacy becomes a feeding frenzy for hangers on, be they relatives or not.
Best advice, listen to Jimi's music, enjoy him for the innovative, natural genius he was and above all, as he used to say; "Watch out for your ears."

The connection of the watch to Hendrix is utter ox dung. Literally jumping on the band wagon. Or are they alluding to his famous rendition of a song about a tower of watches!
Utterly terrible timepiece that has very little connection to a truly wonderful Guitar God.
Few people will pay full price for these watches, so I’d hang on until they’re going for a song.
Having brand ambassadors is one thing, but dead ones?
mmmh......do not like when brands try to hard and ask you to pay a super premium for 7750 powered basic chrono.
Not my cup of tea at all...
Didn't Oris do a whole line of watches named after jazz musicians???
