    Skx007 - advice please

    Hi
I bought one recently brand new on SC and I love it

I buy watches mainly on looks and size - it’s awesome value for money

My query is to do with “winding” the watch

I normally take my watch off at night, it’ll stop during the night as there’s no movement from me
Am I to understand from my broken research that the watch cannot be “wound”

Any advice please - is a watch winder needed?

Thanks all - I do love the watch!

No it is not needed, you just wear it everyday and it winds itself.

If you stop wearing it then it will stop.

But when you want to wear it again you just shake it about and set the time and wear it again.

It is optional, I never bothered with them myself

yep - it does not wind - but should go all night after being worn for a few days to start it off - or you can "shake' it gently to wind it up

I've had three and all three have kept good time

I wear mine daily from about 8am to 8pm and it has never stopped while off my wrist. Plenty of go in it without needing a winder. That's why I love it. A great daily workhorse watch.

I have a SKX013 with the same movement. I can leave it off the wrist for two days and it is still running. I think the published power reserve is around 40 hours for the 7S26 movement.

It should have enough power reserve to keep going overnight.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Your daily habits will dictate how long the power reserve lasts. If you just shake it a few times at 8an then spend a day at a desk, come home and take it off at 8pm, I can easily see it stopping after 5-8 hours.

If you are a mechanic, no. It should last 15 hours after a day. So in the latter example, when you put it on in the morning, there could be 7 hours left. During the day you're adding another 15. In such an example it would be at full charge after around 4 days.

Yeah it can be a bitch if you sleep for 2 days...

Just make suree you have worn it a couple of hours before taking it off so it is wound up nicely ;)

My father turned 91 just over a week ago. He wears a 7S26 powered 5 that I gave him on his 85th. It's stopped once only in six years, that was two years ago when he was laid up with the flu for 3 days. He takes it off at night, never shakes it, just wears it during the day and evening. Yours should be fine.
