    They are film/TV/cartoon characters, represented as bar charts. The bars reflect the character's colours and relative size. Hence, for the answer given above for no.4, one bar is TinTin, the other is Snowy the dog.

    Thanks for this, kept family and friends engaged for a few hours today and they are still arguing about some of the colours
