It depends on what your contract says, and what you mean by “have laid us off”. Far too many variables to even consider a complete answer.
It's just a matter of time...

I don't know about the legalities but it's immoral and a scummy thing to do - if you have full pay, you are stealing a job from one of the main thousands of people who are suddenly unemployed and need to pay bills and put food on the table.

Didn't you say last week that you were going to do some security work?

What a complete knob jockey, plenty of people needing work to feed their families right now. You should be bloody ashamed of yourself.

You were probably laid off because the whole country is practising social distancing, because of a virus which can be quite dangerous apparently. Perhaps you could be a good chap and stay in like everyone else to help stop it spreading?

Yes it was. Perhaps he should take his own advice. Although he has now deleted the post.

If you like your job why don’t you check with your employer? If it is security at a hospital they might not have an issue with it.

Whilst I get this a different time, when I ran an events based business it was often very hard to find temporary workers, even when offering well above minimum wage and in areas with high unemployment. It could be that these hospitals have been looking for these roles for a while and not finding it hard to find candidates because people want to isolate. It’s important we keep the NHS staff safe.

You did nothing wrong mate. People read too much into things and overreact without knowing all the facts.

Too many folk are much too keen to lay into jimp at any and every opportunity. Is is too much to hope people could be a little kinder to each other during this difficult time?

If jimp wants to post a picture of himself working in a hospital within the next two weeks I will put £100 into any charity he chooses.

Yes it is so easy to put the boot in when behind a pc. Gang hut mentality runs supreme around here.

Yes it was aimed at you and a few others, repeatedly putting the boot in over here is becoming more prevalent and toxic. The Draft Thread was quite rightly hoofed because it got nasty and if this sort of behaviour continues expect more hoofing.

Instead of being nasty all you have to do is point out where you think he is going wrong in a civilised way.

Just a daft play on his name, not a criticism of his behaviour but thanks for your sage advice.

The point for me is that there are too many people on here who spend their time making snide comments directed at others - lobbing their grenades and then stepping back to watch the consequences. It would be good to think that, instead, these troubled times would see an increase in empathy and togetherness. We're all suffering in one way or another, and sadly I fear that the statistics we're seeing all over the news each day will hit TZ in a very real way before too long. Let's all just be nice to each other.

Just incase Jimp is still Reading this, I don’t think he can take another job anyway, I’m guessing his employer is making use of the governments Employment Retention Scheme, he’s just very lucky that his employer is making up the 20%, but part of that scheme says the employee can’t do any other work.

Jimp if you do find yourself getting bored just volunteer somewhere, plenty of places looking.
