I have an early Batmobile like yours but in a rather played-with condition. Needs some TLC. Perhaps now is the time.
If you have the original box and the car is not too damaged then it will be worth more unrestored. The key thing is the condition of the plastic fittings (especially screens) presence of original figures etc. A bit of paint loss isn't the end of the world.

Here’s another, but one I’ve recently purchased. I’ve been after one for a while at a reasonable price. This one is in superb condition as is the box, and the golfer, caddy and golf clubs are perfect originals as opposed to the replacements that are often there.

Ford Consul Cortina Super Estate : from 1966-69

    That's very tidy.

I have a repainted old banger version of that here.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

    Ah, yes.

I can explain the white wall tyres.

I was smooshing it through some paint on the floor of my Father's garage.

And the cracked screens. I was flying it off the top of the stairs.

And the matchsticks that got stuck in the rocket launcher. It kept me busy on long journeys.

All this happened a long time ago...

ive now refined the Corgi collection down to this

    Back row left to right:
1959 Ford Thunderbird (pre suspension & internal detailing), 1963 Ghia L6.4 (when released the most expensive Corgi car due to the opening doors, bonnet, boot and internal detailing), 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk (early version pre suspension and internal detailing)

    Front row left to right:
1961 Triumph Herald Coupe, 1960 Morris Mini Minor, 1960 Aston Martin DB4

The DB4 is refurbished in a repro box, all the rest are near mint original unrestored examples in original boxes

Growing up as a child in the early 1970s i had a lot of these mainly used from second hand shops and jumble sales for a few pence aound say 1976 to 78 and the age of 4 on. Some were probably also taken from friends toy boxes. I always wanted American cars or Jags. I do remember being very taken with a green road sweeper with no tyres, picked up at a second hand shop. Dinky had gone by then so it was all used. Then hotwheels redline came in when i was about 6 and i went mad wanting those and later polistil. Had a few corgi superfast and still have the yellow series 3 etype. And gold lambo.

Here’s another one to add.... Chevrolet Fire Chief from 1963-65.
Found this one the other day in the back of a cabinet in an antiques shop. The owner was in a good mood and sold it to me for a nice price.

Since last posting I’ve added three more models to my collection.

Ford GT70 in basically mint condition ...box and car all original. 1971-1973

Commer Holiday Camp Bus from 1967-1969
Excellent condition ...frequently you find the rear opening doors are broken and the luggage rack is bent. It’s missing a covered luggage piece that fits on the rack but I can get on eventually. Unfortunately it’s a repro box.

    Triumph Herald Coupe from 1960-64
Box and model all original....you may recognise this one from Velrum’s collection ;-)

I think that is a GT70, and none the worse for being so.

Sorry to be such a pedant. I had a 1:43 GT40 when I was a kid and loved it, probably the toy car most responsible for me being a petrolhead.

    Lovely collection you have there.

This thread has brought back a few memories, I had quite a few of these as a kid, none in any where as good a condition though.
after a quick scroll through I remember having:

    The bat-mobile
    The Torpedo Boat
    The Helicopter carrier
the Aircraft carrier (both had wheels underneath as did the torpedo boat)
    Concord
    James Bonds DB5
    the Land Rover

I used to pick them up in junk shops (remember them?) for pennies and they sat on a shelf - my first collection I guess. They were given away to a younger kid when I was about 14. I presume they are in a land fill somewhere now
I also had a large collection of Matchbox cars and Planes, some rare prototypes as well that 'found' their way out of the factory via relative that worked there, including a Hurricane Mk1 and an F2 Tornado ADV. Neither of which went in to production as far as I am aware. These are long gone as well. I also had a Matchbox slot car set that was another prototype, at the time is was much cooler than scalextrix as they had front and rear lights and were in a smaller scale so the track seemed longer. It had a BMW 6 series, TR7, Mclaren F1 car and Ford Escort

Something that diverges from Corgi slightly...I bought this on a whim and it turns out to be quite cool.

Early to mid 60s Japanese tinplate friction ambulance with siren.Has it’s original box as well. Little bit bigger than the Corgi models at 16cm.

I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of the 60s gold JB DB5 reissue from Corgi. I pre-ordered over a year ago and it's now supposed to be released this 'summer'. Anyone else also waiting?

A bit of a story........my best friend back in those pre-teen days was one lucky devil. He had all the 'best' Corgi and Dinky stuff bought for him by his parents. Bond, Batmobile, Joe 90, all the Thunderbirds stuff, Captain Scarlet, Brinks-Mat truck........and that's just the stuff I can remember. Needless to say, going around to play at his house was an utter joy!

    I hope he kept them!

All I can recall is that I had a Studebaker car that I was quite fond of (no idea why!), and also a Corgi Holmes Wrecker that I 'bought' from a wondeful toyshop in Bridlington by sacrificing my week's family holiday pocket money for - it cost £1.

Following on (belatedly) from the last post I also got hold of one of the re-issue James Bond Aston Martin DB7.
I have original models but this one is pretty good tbh!

I don’t usually buy modern models but this one was worth it.
Also I have started getting the models officially re-issued to original specs by the Corgi Model Club…have to say they are pretty good.

1967 Monte Carlo Winner Mini Cooper S (original was produced 1967-68)

Lotus Climax F1 (original produced 1964-69)

Porsche Carrera 6 (original produced 1967-1970)

    ‘The Saint’s’ Volvo P1800 (original produced 1965-1970)

I see the reissue Saint's Volvo has the same type of sticker on the bonnet.

    Very realistic to the original!
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this lovely thread.
I have no idea, how I managed to not see it until now.
Certainly a blast straight back to my childhood, with the usually culprits such as 007's Aston Martin, Batmobile, The Saint etc.
But the one that did it for me unseeing it, was Captain Scarlett's SPV.
Wow, I am 8 yrs old again :-)
    Thank you
