Issued CWC auto diver from 1984.
Today’s offering - a Vietnam era US Benrus.
The added attraction to me is that it’s the same vintage as myself - Feb 1967 !!

This was my daily wearer for over 20 years, before I gave it an honorable discharge from active duty. Might as well wear it for staying in all day.
I have had a couple Hamilton Khaki Mechanicals and I really liked them but even at 38mm they just wore much larger because of the large dial face and lug to lug of just over 47mm. I purchased a Benrus 50th anniversary D-day issue on Ebay and received it yesterday. I am sending it back because it had a problem, but when I put it on I couldn't help but think that this is the watch that Hamilton should of made. What I mean is the size was so perfect. It was 34mm with a lug to lug length of 41mm and 18mm lug opening, which would really make it much like the original military issue Hamilton made during Vietnam. Just thought I would mention this since we are talking about military watches.
This lovely piece today....

Not an issued watch but these were issued by the French Navy a few years ago
I only wear it when I do DIY hence on my wrist today!
You can never go wrong with Hamilton Khaki mechanical, especially that crown, don't believe there is a more satisfying crown to wind. I only wish they would have made the case size more like original at about 35mm with about a 43mm lug to lug, but that is just me.
I'm wearing one of my Helvetia (surprising I know) versions today.
Here it is with my earlier model.
And for all you could possibly want to know, and more, about Helvetia DH watches:

Thanks. Carl.
The PRS5 Broadarrow on a CWC Falklands strap
You have given me an idea!
I have one of these watch straps / cot ties in the strap box which is dated 82.
I also have an 82 dated CWC Chronograph
I think it’s a good pairing!
Did not think of it before.
Thanks!
Alas the black hardware and silver case sent my ocd in to over drive.
It does look good on the SBS though.
:-)
