In the heady carefree days of early 2020 when we weren't thinking of stocking up on loo rolls etc, it was my Mrs Millers special birthday, she decided she wanted a new watch! Her favourite film by far is the scifi film Interstellar, a great film, the hero of which was the mechanical watch that enabled communication across time and space by the manipulation of the seconds hand into morse code thus saving the world, Hamilton brought out a faithful recreation of the watch based on the field Khaki with some subtle changes, known as the Murph after the character in the film, it has no date, vintage lume and a nice touch although its hard to see is the word Eureka spelt out in morse along the seconds hand, the first 2500 released had the special Tesaract box you see in the photos, this is a nod to the final scenes in the film, those who have seen it will recognise it, the first run with the box is long sold out and whist you can buy the watch still, you can't get the box. Of course the wife insisted I get one with this box so the search began, I did find a few on eBay but decided to pay out a premium for a NOS one, she was delighted and so was I, its a great watch notwithstanding the film connection, she asked me to swap out the standard strap for a NATO and it looks good on it, Im hoping in time she decides its a bit big for her its 42mm I think.
Ive been a bit lazy with the photos but hope they are ok. Its only when you put them on the big screen you notice how grubby it is!
