    A plea for your SOTC

    Hi all,

I think it’s fair to say that most of us have a bit more time at home than we normally have. In light of this, I’m hoping that we all might be able to pull together a state of the collection post. Not only is it a great opportunity to spend some time with your watches, it brings us all a much needed distraction from the drudge of remote working and the distressing news from around the world.

    So please, share away.

    Yours hopefully
    TPT

    Nice idea.

This week has put this hobby firmly into perspective but I still hammer the forum to escape the depressing news

That’s one hell of a collection - very nice indeed. You’re right, it’s a ridiculous and frivolous hobby in many ways, but we need to take our pleasures where we can.

Still close to my ideal, and would be in my 10 watches or less collection. Love it!
It's just a matter of time...

This is such a funny hobby. Whilst they are lovely, I wouldn’t buy any of them! (Presuming I could afford to. Which of course I cannot!)

No pictures and barely a collection at all: A CWC RN diver non-date (quartz), Omega FOIS and just ordered a Precista PRS-82 last Sunday. I prefer non-date watches. Plus 3 G Shocks, but they don’t count.

I am with you seabiscuit. I don't have a picture of my one watch collection at the moment. The moment being no picture and I only have one watch but will be adding the Timor Heritage Field Watch that isn't due out until November, but that is good with all this chaos going on in the world. The one watch I do have is a Serica WWW WMB edition which is a hand wound movement and no date because that is how I roll.

Thanks. I go through phases but try and rotate as much as poss.

Very happy with this lot after consolidation and getting a lot of luck with the PPs.

I would still like to do one final swap out if I ever get the opportunity - either change the 5167 for a 5164 or the 5711 for a 5712 (but I’m not complaining!!)

Haven't done an SOTC for a while so seems like a good use of some time!

    First are some everyday/sports ones:

    Then the chronographs:

CAC5A466-CF49-44F8-B793-225470F0ED08 by Matt G, on Flickr

Then the holiday/grab and go quartz ones:

0974B7B5-35AA-4057-AAF3-F16519023EFD by Matt G, on Flickr

Then the dress watches (including birth year Datejust):

2EE5C745-71C6-4A7D-913F-31413B8AD996 by Matt G, on Flickr

    Finally the G-Shocks!

    A final group shot:

There are also a few watches I have inherited but are not with me at present hence no pictures. Fairly happy with things as they are at present but do miss a GMT a bit so may swap something for one of those depending on how things pan out!

Quick and dirty, this is the core of it right now. There are a few oddballs and outliers in another box but these are the ten I count.

    Nice idea for a thread.

I was intending to do a 'proper' SOTC soon, but in the meantime here are photos of my current collection. As you will see, I lean very heavily towards 44-46mm tool watches of various types...

    Breitling Avenger Skyland

    Breitling Avenger Seawolf II

    Breitling Navitimer World

    Rolex Deepsea Seadweller 116660

    Timefactors PRS-2 Dreadnought

    DOXA Sub 1500t Professional

    Offshore Professional Field Engineer

    Mühle Glashütte Seebataillon GMT

    Omega Geneve Dynamic

    Maranez Layan

    Steinhart Marine Chronometer II

    Lüm-Tec M50

    Divex Professional 200

    Seiko Prospex PADI Turtle

    DOXA Aquaman

    Bulova Lunar Pilot 'Moon Watch'

Bulova Chronograph C 'Stars & Stripes'

    All the best,

    Simon

    Thanks!

It's the Hamilton Intra-matic H38755381, with fume dial. No anti-reflective coating on the crystal, together with the curved dial and colouring of it make it ridiculously difficult to photograph.

Q&D before bed. The Aerospace NM is off with Breitling hence the empty cushion, and there are a couple of G Shocks too.

Pretty much settled on these 10. Which 4 are keepers. Would love to add a Speedy 57 Trilogy but that will have to wait.

An impressive bunch and great photos Tony. All great watches in their own right, especially attracted to the GS, but you have to love how that Rainbow pops. I used to have the all black version, but they got the colours just right on that one.

Thank you, and yes - both of those are lovely. I waited a long time to pick up a nice coloured Rainbow, actually, and I'm really pleased with it.

Every time I think I have too many watches I spend some time on here and realise I am an amateur!

First time posting a picture so sorry if it does not work.

Amen Brother. I have one watch at the moment so it gets a lot of wrist time. I have come to realize that I prefer a much smaller approach to the hobby and that is alright. Just feel less stress if you know what I mean.
