I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
I don’t get what difference his job makes in the whole story
I hope his landlady never needs a paramedic..
Why is the landlady worried? Does she live there as well? Does she even have the right?
If there’s a tenancy contract tell her to whistle.
Oh dear, true colour show at times like this, shocking behaviour

Simply shocking- and she still wants to charge him for a week's rent!
maybe if they named her she might change her mind, assuming the story is true
Two members banned in just one short thread. 100thmonkey could make it a treble if he doesn’t consider editing his last post.
Language, gentlemen!

Providing the newspaper story is full and accurate (not always a given unfortunately), it is an absolute disgrace. This a professional who has served his country and continues to serve his community. If his landlady feels she is doing the right thing, she should have the confidence to reply with her full name and address. Bet she doesn't.
I think at this time, making someone homeless should not be allowed. Infant i don't believe she is allowed to do it anyway.
Also, was it about a week ago, that a hotel closed and threw the live in staff out without notice, making them homeless?
Wasnt there a law passed quite recently that for the next 3 months landlords cannot evict tenants? Or have I misread that.

Well first of all the decision to evict the paramedic is clearly ridiculous, cruel, stupid and immoral. He’s doing an incredible job in unprecedented times and his landlady is an idiot. The hotel staff were apparently asked to leave in error and are now back in their rooms. Peoples ability to argue on this forum never ceases to amaze me.

Why?
Be part of the solution not part of the problem.
My family are healthcare workers. I am
Not but I would do anything to help disregarding my own health and wealth just like I have in the past.
I want to save lives and if that means some harsh words and a little inconvenience then please feel free to ban me.
Do the right thing on a difficult day.

What has holsterman been banned for? A disgusting decision.
Harsh words can be had without forgetting this is the G&D. "idiot" is an acceptable substitute. I have been guilty in the past of not realising the discussion was happening in the George, and was grateful when members signalled it to me. I think this is the spirit in which you should take the remarks, not as a disagreement to the sentiment you were expressing.

This is absolutely not the time for
Falling out it’s time to help each other and fight through and if that means a few harsh words and a bit of selflessness then bring it on

I quite agree. I know holsterman personally and he retired from being a surgeon about 18 months ago and he is highly regarded in his field. I could not even guess how many lives that he has saved over the years and to be banned for what can only considered stating what many health workers feel is way out of order.
The bans were for the profanity in their posts in this public area of the forum, which Eddie doesn't tolerate, nor quoting said profanity. Posters of #17, #21 and #25 might want to do a quick edit.

Those bans are usually short

Just read through this forum and the amount of utterly vile people on here exposed for what they really are increases.

Sorry, Eddie..............No offence intended.

MrsV offered her house out in Cornwall but the fella was in Bristol so too far but she's messaged the SW ambulance service and I think has arranged to give her keys out if more NHS staff are drafted into the area. I think a few second home folk are now going to do the same thing as Cornwall has seen a huge influx of idiotic tourists/escapees which are stretching resources.
