    Let’s have your good news!

Let’s be honest. It’s pretty grim present. But...
Let’s have some nice stories. Because it’s nice to read them 😊

This photo was taken on 29th Feb. Just after my father had made a rather wonderful speech.
I could go into more details but they’re for me. Rest assured, this means a lot.

When the schools closed I faced the horrific prospect of zero income but the vast majority of my clients have moved over to online remote lessons with me. I've been pretty overwhelmed by the support that I have received from them and most say that they are genuinely keen to support self employed people like myself at this time. I will pay it forward where I can.

Oh yes the really good news is The Eurovision Song Contest is cancelled.

I'm getting lots of things done which I would otherwise have left un-done.

I'm about to put some wax on my Barbour where it's wearing off, and then I'll clean my bathrooms. Yesterday I swept my balcony, so I can powerwash it as soon as the neighbours go away in a couple of weeks.

In normal times I'd probably have done some food shopping, and watched rugby and the Bahrain Grand Prix. None of which are options at the moment.

I've got the DVD's of "Chernobyl" to cheer myself up with later.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Pleasantly surprised, our builder just emailed to say he's still looking at starting the pergola build in 8 days so that we can complete the pool and terrace which went in before last Summer, all contingent on his suppliers still being allowed to deliver materials and Govt not ordering cessation of all activities. Everything is crossed.

Doing jobs that have needed to be done for a while, sometimes years.
New fence materials arriving next week, so rather than a trip to Rome I can put the fence up.

I've also started to use smaller independent shops and have no desire to move back to the big boys anytime soon.

Yesterday, jet washed the patio and paths around Chaz G whilst enjoying the sunshine, before blasting the patio furniture.

Today’s trimmed, edged and gave the lawn its first summer cut, before sanding down the patio furniture and giving it a coat of Danish Oil. Looks great.

Now awaiting a nice Roast Pork dinner and a glass of Merlot.

A group of Doncaster Rovers supporters collect food and money from fellow supporters in aid of local foodbanks. Yesterday they donated £988.75p to a local foodbank that was running short of food to give to the needy

    Hello

I've had it and am now more or less recovered and most importantly no family or friends have got it from me!

So I can continue to talk crap on here from time to time.

Celebrating Mother’s Day with my wife at home with out newborn daughter; instead of being in Afghanistan or some other exotic hot spot around the world. Took the convertible for a couple of hours with the roof down through the countryside, good for the soul and now back home to cook a lamb roast and a lovely red.

Just enjoying a lovely home made Victoria sponge cake with a cup of tea in the garden whisky I wait for the roast.

I’ve had a massive clear out and tidy up in the garage. I removed a reversing camera from one horse box and fitted on another. And tomorrow I’m planning on chain harrowing a 4 acre field..

Pretty good day at told. Mother's Day breakfast, French toast made with crumpets with a side of bacon. 3 hour walk before midday. Gardening in the afternoon, lawn mowed, patio jet washed. Then cooked roast beef, probably drank too much either side. Wife and kids happy.

My sense of taste and smell has come back. Still have piercing pain in my head from time to time, sore nose and throat, sore lungs and glands (all on the right side of my body) and I'm absolutely exhausted but it seems the end is in sight. Or possibly nigh. I just have to hope all you buggers start behaving yourselves so I'm still able to go out driving in around 12 days' time and we're not all on lockdown!

I've been doing DIY, painting, generally keeping occupied. Liz & I go out cycling on our Bromptons, exploring new places, but most of all these two make our day, our Grandchildren, Jim & Harriet (just before a game of Poohsticks)!

My eldest step daughter and her boyfriend finally exchanged contracts on their first house yesterday and will complete tomorrow.

Due to her choosing a cheap (and barely competent) solicitor, it’s been a very long and stressful experience taking eight months for a first time buyer to buy an already built new build from a developer.

Jeez. It was built for the whole 8 months?

    Good news btw.

After 2 ops and 2 tests we’ve just had the all clear on the mast cell tumour which has just been removed from one of our dogs
The KI67 test proved that the cells had not spread to a degree that means she needs further screening and the mass that was removed was at least 5mm clear

It was completed when she first viewed it in January.

They put a deposit down on it in February once she’d got her accounts finalised

Found part of a boundary stone wall had been reversed into and collapsed this afternoon. However one of the local farmers came later to say they were responsible for the accident and were arranging for it to be repaired; a good example of the local community spirt out here.
