    Most welcome! I’m
Aware we have seen anorak Alec, naked Alec and a few others like most of us maybe the conversation was on clowns one night and that’s what I remember after one too many to drink

If Raffe does join the vGTG I'd love to spectate. Could even make it a Vs with £5 entry pay per view going to the fundraiser

Sadly I don’t think this will happen, I think everyone has seen my very public meltdown and mistake now, I’m not really interested in another bust up over it! Life is too short

If that happens count me out. I enjoy the vGTGs as they are a lot of fun. I’m not going on a vGTG to watch two grown men bicker all evening. If I want that I’ll go to my local beer garden.

Raffe has joined us a few times. And he has always been a Gentleman. Macca has also joined us a few times, and has also been a Gentleman.

I’m sure we’ll have no issues when both Gentlemen join us at a vGTG.

As an aside, a few of the forum’s more ‘interesting’ characters have attended the McrGTGs and they are brilliant in real life, and everyone always gets on.

Is it really a swear word?! I just googled and seems to be no clear answer. David Cameron used it on air in an BBC radio interview...

I'm not convinced. I've just asked my brother and sister in law as they're two of the smartest people I know (vet and a teacher at a private school) neither think it's a swearword. Both admit it's not compliment but not a swearword either.

In the collins (online) dictionary it has two meanings - one is considered offensive the other very offensive -> here I guess if it depends if offensive = swearing.

£5 cost to the fund for an argument btw!

Yes if you’re going to insist I go on pay per view for the fundraiser Wiley then it’s a fine for the rude word!

What has smart got to do with it? Plus confused by the use of your qualifier that being a teacher at a private school somehow implies that they are smarter than a state school teacher! In fact, they can even be less qualified due to the less stringent employment criteria!

Anyway that’s by the by and T*** is most definitely a swear word and a Northern relation to the C***word.

Call someone that on a night out in Wigan and see what happens!

Unless you meant to type Twit, of course!

In fact the range of employment of the regular vGTGers leaves me with dropped jaw most sessions. Inventing Kevlar, solving international military conflicts, diplomatic service; we could do with some softeners, maybe a bouncy castle operator or a clown. Get the general level of importance down nearer to my level.
Who here invented Kevlar then? Sounds unlikely TBH, was invented by DuPont in the 1960s.

As for t**t, think the relatively innocuous meaning is far more common in the South.

Graphite occurs naturally, so no-one invented it...

That might be a good challenge - first to have a slow worm on a vGTG. Or an MX5. Or a suitably-adorned letter box. Display the forum spirit.

I was thinking if you want a broad category... favourite thing that’s not a watch you’ve bought from SC over the years would be a good show and tell

    Another vGTG tonight Gents?

United are playing tonight so I’ll probably start you all, watch the first half, then return when you’re all a bit more ‘tired’.

Q of the week: “Favourite thing that’s not a watch you’ve bought from SC over the years?”

Dress code: one for Martyn or Alec!

Sadly I won't be able to join you all tonight.

Not sure I'll have much to contribute to tonight's topic, I've only ever bought a watch from SC. An abuse of the facility I know but I have enough crap of my own without adding to it.

    Enjoy your evening.

Another fun vGTG. No new faces this week (unless I missed someone whilst I was watching the football!) but good to see the return of some stalwarts.

As an aside, we need to think of a suitable venue for an in-person Manchester GTG. It has to be secure, with real ale. Advice via PM welcome! Sometime in July might be best.

July is turning out to be a busy month for me. We already have two short breaks booked and my 60th is also that month.
