watch topic for tonight: Are the latest developments in movement technology a good thing?

non-watch topics: anything goes really (including random naked women on your doorstep).

Another nice vGTG, thanks Gents. Low on numbers tonight - we were thinking of you all who can't join us for various reasons!

Sorry I couldn’t make it, I was planning to drop in at around 9:30 after watching the rugby, but an important family phone call took priority. Also had an early start today to finish laying some paving slabs, didn’t fancy that with a typical post-GTG hangover!

There is plenty of football on tonight, England vs Ireland is the one I want to watch. May I suggest we postpone tonight’s vGTG by a week? Thoughts?

A rare opportunity to view something actually potentially watchable is not to be missed. I agree with the postponement.

Had to bail out early again - the big boys' bottles are coming out.

I predict reports of very tired people in the morning.

First vGTG when it's officially WINTER!

I will be sending out a link to previous vGTG attendees and those that expressed interest.

Please send me a PM if you would like to join
. It would be great to see you on the zoom call.

This weeks topic: What type of watch do you prefer to wear and why? Be prepared to show examples. E.g. diver, airborne, dress (dress optional but not excluded) others.

It is fair to say, we are not used to this amount of notice, where is Kirk and what have you done with him?

I’ve outsourced this task to my Martyn-minion in an attempt to stop him buying watches.

(I’m taking part in panel discussion work thing so will be ca. half an hour late. Don’t drink too much without me!).

Very interesting as always last night chaps; thanks.

Martyn's valiant attempts to introduce watches into the conversations worked quite well I thought.

The next one's dress code should make for an interesting evening.

vGTG Gentlemen, have you seen the Wooster Booster?

    https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...49#post5610549

I think this is a very good cause - Christian is a vGTG stalwart, and it’s worth a donation just for the ‘Wooster Booster’ name!

Don’t forget it’s the Christmas Cocktail vGTG this Thursday!

Time: 20:15 (to allow me to finish a work’s do first...)

    Dress code: black tie

Zoom details to follow tomorrow. PM if you want to join, everyone is very welcome.

My cocktails: 1. Whisky with 2 drops of water. 2. Whiskey sour. 3. Snowball.

    Let’s hear your cocktail suggestions!

My cocktail suggestion: fill 3/4 of a 100ml glass with Plum brandy (of around 60% ABV). Leave the rest of the glass empty.

Had a PM from an established member who will join us, and is a vGTG newbie, good stuff.

I must say these fortnightly Zooms have been a great way to get to know TZers and have enhanced my enjoyment of the Forum.

I think Unclealec will dress as Father Christmas this time. You’ll have to wait until the post covid-vaccine McrGTG to sit on his knee though.

If Alec is going to be FC who will be his elf?

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Not sure about cocktails yet. Have a bottle of cheap white Rhum that has been sitting around for years. Now seems a good opportunity to use it. Oh and some vintage Damson Vodka. Perhaps I'll invent a TZ vGTG cocktail for the night. Is half eight in the morning too early to start experimenting?

Invitations sent. If anyone else wants to join please PM me.

The penalty for not wearing black tie is a donation to the Wooster Booster!

Can’t make it tonight, have fun and a great Christmas.

  48. #348
    I am in.

    Bow tie dug out

Cocktail of choice will be my old University special - The Kangaroo!

    Double Vodka
    Half a sweet cider
    Snowball
    Dash of black current
Pint glass topped up with lemonade!

Tastes like cream soda and was my first homemade alcopops!

    Or

    An espresso martini!

Sorry to hear you can’t make it Berty, have a great Christmas mate and see you at an in-person McrGTG in 2021 (hopefully!).

There will be a few new faces tonight, which is great!

It was your promise of a nice Christmas present for new participants which made me commit.

As I said in the PM, doesn't have to be a Patek - any old Daytona will do.
