If this one looses a few grand I would probably be less concerned about wearing it.
Lol. Fun thread. Chrono24?

My most expensive watch is this 64 Ed White, if it loses a few quid so be it but I think it will do better than the 2020 version.... hopefully!
First time I’ve looked at the Chrono24 collection valuation page. Ridiculous prices...suggests my modest collection is worth about 45% more than I know I could get for it.
Nominate Tintin as it's my watch thats worth the most, although I don't think that it will be in the same league as many.
I bought it for less than retail back when they were unloved, and have no intention to sell.

Isn't it just. It isn't something that I've been keeping an eye on but I stumbled across an article on Fratello and it reminded me of this thread.

What goes up ...
My Hulk going to get SMASH. But not selling anyway, love this green monster.
I don't have one but reckon the Omega Snoopy watch will take a bath of epic proportions.
I’d say one that’s currently trading above rrp so I’ll go for the Harrods black bay
In demand sports model, offer me 20 percent less today, from November 2019.
Yes they might be making lower offers to buy stock as people need to raise money, but belive you me it's a warning on prices on all watches.

Can only enter watch model that you own?
The average asking price for Tintins has gone up, probably an exchange rate thing.

Actually looking at all the UK adverts and not just pressing the giz a value button is both more enjoyable and less confusing.
Not sure of the point of this thread.
(1) It seems to duplicate several others on the site.
(2) It seems to be for those who might hope to scoop a "grail" watch cheap.
(3) It fails to understand that something has a value only if you chose to sell it. ... and who sells into a buyers market if they don't have to?
Chrono24 is prices in dollars and then converts, I’m 15% up, as a result of the £ tanking against the $
My Tudor Black Bay 558 is apparently 51% up on purchase price yet I couldn’t shift it for under RRP on here!!

The resale value of anything is dependant upon what someone is prepared to pay for it, hence C24, EBay, etc are for guidance only.
However just for fun, my last watch purchase was a mint, full set, one original owner (a friend) 16700, I paid £6250. I would estimate its value to be around £9000.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Okay
Rolex 5513-preowned
Chrono 24 gives current market value at £11,373
I paid £15,500
That should give me a good head start on most.
Aren’t C24’s valuations all about getting you to put your watch up for sale in their website, so the prices are inflated a bit to encourage you to list, but then take an offer that’s closer to the right price if a buyer pops up?

Pretty happy with this valuation, and soon to appear on SC a lot lower than this...
Mad app that is.
It values my Snowflake at between £9k and £19k
I know value of these is subject to a lot, but that is a huge difference, and all of that range at an unrealistic end of the scale.
This thread isn't complete without a Daytona .
But let's ignore the ceramic, we'll take my white dial 116520. A comparable watch on WatchFinder, £17950. I picked mine up 4 years ago(?) for under £7k.....
Edit to add - chrono24 place the mid range at £16k. Am sure as mentioned there some dollar effect in that.

Im not sure whether to trust these watch value apps. Mines is suggesting an increase in value of double the profit compared to a month ago.

For what I paid for my Rolex Submariner 116610LN, I know I’m still well in profit. However I do not intend to sell it, it is a keeper and I love it. It ain’t for flipping, so I really don’t care if the price goes down!

Use watchrecon too. It's more... realistic.

Only relevant and point of sale, I hopefully won’t be selling any of mine anytime soon, but with a two grand 14060, three and a half grand 16710 and an absolute original 1970 5513 at six grand I think I will be fine.
They will even out the over RRP Hulk though LOL. Win some lose some. The other ceramic’s will be marginally okay but it’s a hobby after all which gives me a huge amount of enjoyment.
I find it confusing why folk also seem to find ‘enjoyment’ seeing prices drop to poke at those who have purchased the certain brand. This whole COVID-19 will hopefully be the reset needed. #BeKind
