    Omega Speedmaster Professional

Good afternoon chaps a bit of help is required. I’ve been using google trying to work out what production year a friend of mines inherited speedy is.

It’s a 32million serial number on the movement, it has a “professional” dial, crown guards case with twisted lugs but an S 105.003-64 caseback but not a 321 movement which is throwing me off? Is this correct and original to the watch? Has it got a service dial?

Would love to know what’s original and what isn’t, would also like to confirm exactly what year the watch actually is.

The photos are not taken by me but my mate so please go easy!

    Any help is much appreciated,
    Many thanks

    J

Movement and dial are from circa 1971, caseback from a -64 Ed White. It is at heart a 145.022-69 or 145.022-71 at a guess. Most likely a -71.

The EW caseback is actually pretty valuable but of course you would need a correct replacement if you wanted to sell it, those aren't cheap either.

Thanks, would you say that the case is original to the watch?

At first glance I had doubts over a couple of other features, such as the bezel and hands but after consideration think the watch is straight, just that the back has been swapped. The dial and movement type (861) are consistent with the serial number. I cant read your serial very well but it looks to be ~32.2m which gets a hit on Ilovemyspeedmaster as October 1971.
