1024x768 has always exceeded forum guidelines for picture size. The new forum software will display pictures up to 800 pixels wide and post a link for anything larger than this.

i am having a problem posting pics!
not had the problem before, i am using villagephotos as a hosting album, and as per usual i just upload pics which get sized to 1024by768 which i think is standard, then i right click the html address and copy, then open tz and paste in the topic box, this has always worked but now when i do this and preview, all i get is the address not the pic.
what am i doing wrong and how do i remedy it
ALL answers appreciated, even the funnies
cheers

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
The new version software doesn't accept html code to improve the security of the software, so you have to use the BBcode and wrap the [img]http://xxxxx.jpg[/img] tags around your image URL.
On my system, if the image exceeds the 800 x 800 guidelines I get a polite reminder in red that it exceeds 800 pixels and the system won't accept it.
I've also found that it doesn't like image URL's not ending with .jpg or one of the other recognised image formats (gif, tiff etc) as it can't check the image size, so if your images are all stored in some form of database and the usual URL is a pointer to an image id number, you'll have to find another way around it.
With Photobucket I just save pics at the correct size for the forum then when I need to post a pic copy the IMG code (bottom of the 4 options) and paste straight in.
