Advice needed for dial restoration and service 1940’s Bulova watch

Recommendations sought for expert dial restorers with text to be added to the dial, within the UK. That can also provide an excellent movement service for a 1940’s (Bulova) 20 jewel movement. Any guidance and experiences would be of great help.

    Thanks,
    M

I had a good experience with DRBILL for dial painting. Their website is https://drbillandsons.com

They do pad printing but might take a bit of time if a new plate is needed. My project took 4 months in total recently - made worse no doubt by Covid. They do have a watchmaker too but I didn't ask for a service done for my semi-vintage heuer.

I can recommend Dr Bill, from a post on another forum they are open and working.
I have only had a watch serviced by them but I know there dial printing is good !
Is the dial really bad ? I would advise you to try and leave it if poss !

    D. Bill have done several for me over the years, I’ve always been happy with the results. You have to accept there are limitations, a refinished dial can usually be spotted as refinished if you know what to look for.

Its customary to send the watch to a repairer and let him send the dial away for refinishing.

Any pictures? Front, back, and preferably inside too please.
I have never heard of a 20 jewel Bulova movement, and would love to see one.

My mistake it’s a Bulova 21 jewel curvex from the 30’ or 40’s as its engraved 1940. Gorgeous case to be a present for my father. So I want it to look good as new. He’s no WIS.

That looks like it's just dirt on the dial.
There are several professional and semi-professionals on the site that could try to clean it for you, give it a service and polish the case sympathetically.
It would be a shame to take away it's originality.

Soni's work is excellent, and I've used D R Bill many times. Both their work is very good and Soni seems to excel at very complicated dial work.
