In other news, BBIO taking off today. And also: Raffe balls deep short Tezzler again. Lesgo!

Another round of US stimulus passes the house.

That should see a bit of a rebound in the market declines. For a while.

I have to say my impetuousity to join the fun by buying INO looks badly misplaced as things stand. It's not a stock I'll leave sitting in my ISA hoping that it'll catch back up to the point of being in profit or a loss I can accept after more than a fortnight holding it! You can't win them all but I'm 0-1 based on this thread

Investing requires a portfolio. Never put your money in a single stock.

I own INO, after the recent position pruning at $15 it represents 3.2% of my portfolio. I am happy to hold and see what becomes of it once calm returns to markets. If it dips below $10, I may add some more shares.

Thanks, it's about 3% of the shares I own too!

Edited as I meant to say it's NOW a stock, rather than not a stock.

I put about 30% of the profit I made from Raffe's NAKD tip into INO.

Happy to let it ride and possibly even double down if it dips low enough.

ETA - I put another 30% into buying a new mountain bike, and the other third I gave to the wife to spend on all the nursery stuff she needs to buy for our incoming new arrival. Those two options are currently proving to be my wisest "investing" decisions of the last month!

It's on the stock exchange, so naturally IBKR will have it.

Bought it after hours yesterday. $10.10

Haha, that was exactly my thought when I saw the US futures opening last night.

If the financial markets are anything like they used to be, we will see a bounce to >3,900 S&P just to shake out last week's shorts. I still see a major correction coming, but maybe not yet. Might as well see new all-time highs before. The next days could be crucial either way.

But then, TSLA also up by 3% which will cost quite a bit of money.

Vanguard Investor site seems to be having issues.

Cannot place a buy order on there. (Wife's ISA money)

Have called them and they tell me "Yea, there is a bit of a glitch which we're trying to resolve, Sir."

"That's great - but the ETF I'm trying to by with a live price has gone up 1.10% since I tried to buy it, which is pretty f**king annoying, no!?"

"I'll give you a call back when the issue is resolved, Sir."

What is it with these crappy platforms. It's 2021 FFS!!

Funny that INO is up 3.5% in pre market when the news was predicting a terrible earnings report today.

Maybe news has leaked that it's not that bad.....?

Where was news predicting a terrible report?

By definition, earnings reports are some of the most confidential data for any listed company, any pre-release would constitute a serious punishable crime. There is always speculation, but it is nothing but.

INO is a long play, it is about whether they can manage to successfully get one of their DNA vaccines through a trial. There may be news on that today or maybe not. If and when it happens, you will see a big move. Until then, patience is required.

My strategy is to wait and buy into weakness.

That is nothing more than blatant ramping ... blows my mind the number of goons retweeting it ... no doubt people invested in his activities and joining in the ramping.

"Investing" in the social media age is a very different era from the time when fundamentals actually mattered.

I can't find the webpage I read last night. This one is similar.

    https://seekingalpha.com/news/366731...edium=referral

    And this.

    https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/...lionaire-make/

The eyeopening one stated that in INO's 40 year history, they've apparently never managed to get a successful drug approved by the FDA which has gone one to make big money.

    Hopefully that's about to change!

    Happy to hold.

But that is opinion, not news.

There is going to be an equal amount of positive and negative opinions for every single investment. That is a balanced market, the price is where all sellers and all buyers are meeting, which by definition is in the middle. If you take every opinion for reality, you end up like Ryan changing your mind every 5 minutes. Half of investors are wrong, all the time.

Bought S&P calls after lunch and kept them all over night. Expecting gap open tomorrow and talk of new stimmy checks to dominate for the rest of the week. S&P > 4,000 by Friday.

    I am lost.

Looked like a picture-book setup for gap up and runaway markets today - and now everything lower again. Was sitting on a huge profit yesterday with my S&P calls, which have almost evaporated overnight. No huge net effect as Tesla puts are making up for it, but still baffled and lost for ideas how to trade this. Frustrating, keep going two steps forward and two steps back.

That's a good one to trade Ryan, but LT I'd be wary. Can't wait to sell my (tiny) allocation - c'mon HSBC! Years til they turn a profit but the initial investors only have a 6 month lock up:

Agreed. It is a small punt on my side and I am currently the princely sum of £23 up on this morning's activities since I bought in. I'm wondering if I should cash in and run to the hills knowing I have earned a smallish chinese takeaway meal for this evening :)

Markets have priced in a return to normality by early summer, whereas press release today from WHO saying Covid is very much in control and will not be over by the end of the year.

Don't think the stimmy takes effect until all the $1400 cheques are paid and people buy stocks with them.

That's when the likes of TSLA and BTC will go up again.

Something (history) tells me the opposite will happen when a trade is so obvious/concentrated. I'll be selling into any strength.
