Been loading up on cheap SP call options.
Call option buying completed (first buy at 3,925 and then again at 3,915).

Now the market better go up.

I'd say, let him! As long as he understands limits and that "once it's gone , that's it." A good lesson to learn early, and if he does well, you'll not need to buy him a house.....

I would be very interested to hear how he is doing and how the journey goes. May daughter is unfortunately too young, she is only six.
I think we'll look into it later once his home lessons are done for the day, looks like I'll have to set up a custodial account for him.

He also says there are several discord servers with hundreds of thousands of investors on each and the Reddit account he looks at has 1.3m members all following the tips, some of these "tips" get traction and away they go bucking what Wallstreet does.

Just make sure he doesn't go putting on naked uncovered shorts with leverage, could turn very expensive indeed!

While on a break from his online chemistry lesson he showed me the discord server, it is eye opening, apparently quite a lot of the investments are tipped by 50 year old men as he says, they give you a buy in and a get out price, sounds to me like they are just using the server to boost their own investments?

Anyone fancy taking a look here it is Stock VIP - https://discord.com/invite/BHNXMFX

When the first crypto wave hit a few years back, I was in some pump and dump groups. What I found was that the admins and the core group would have already loaded up on the stock way before the signal to pump and when the signal was given, they would start dumping right away. Given the low liquidity of the coins they were pumping, a lot of people were left holding absolute shit when the buy demand dried up so I tend to stay away from these coordinated pump groups now

All I can see is an open chat (trading-ideas) where everybody is screaming about their own position. Buy GME! - No, buy AMC!!

It did - and then came down again even lower (3,906 low so far). I bought even more, it's really time for the SP500 to go higher now.

That looks like it's not going according to plan. But then, Tesla is coming down nicely so that short is paying (at least partly) for the SP500 loss.

Still, not a very good day to close a good week.

Edit: closed the Tesla short at $715, kept the SP500 long. Let's see which direction this goes.

Yes, if I'd kept the Tesla puts and sold the SP calls, I would have had a great day.

Unfortunately I did the other way around.

Put it all into Microstrategy and check again in 5 years. You'll either have a lot or nothing.

All a recipe to reduce stock prices, especially high growth stocks. But how have the markets reacted? Of course they've gone higher.

If the 10 year treasuries carry on the way they are going, it will be like boiling a frog.

That could have been me saying this.

Ended up being an ugly day, with many of the small caps selling off into the closing. My position was fairly hedged until I decided to close one position and let the other run. Wednesday's knee-jerk and yesterday's XOLO-GME rally have damaged my extremely high conviction into my short Tesla thesis, Yesterday evening I had opened another position in $500 puts, but it immediately tanked when the GME rally began, Tesla was trading close to $750 early this morning and I was afraid the new position would become a total write-off - so I was happy when I got most of my money back during early afternoon. Obviously the puts became real money makers after I sold them.

Maybe take tomorrow off from trading, resetting the mind for next week.

Good luck as feels like completely unchartered waters.

The bean-feast is coming to an end. You now have to really work for your future SM gains.

The Fed is now really caught between a rock and a hard place. Do they double down and print even more to suppress yields, and hyper inflate to the moon, or watch yields rise and stocks take on a downward spiral.

Interesting times ahead, that is for sure.

I bet you there will be plenty of volatility to trade for months, if not years, to come. Not worried.

Even in my limited knowledge it feels like the Tesla balloon has a hole that is getting bigger, a lot of air has been pumped into it in yet it just can hold itself up.

    That is a bit dramatic.

US futures down half a percent from close, FTSE and DAX down 1.5%.

Not nice, but also not what I call a sea of red. But it may well turn into one of the dip isn't bought....

May be another decent buying opportunity for TIGR later today. I have nearly bought it again twice this week and will do if it gets to $23-$24 sort of range.

TSLA has largely recovered pre-market, from ~$660 now $700, so now above yesterdays close price.

We have had almost 12 months for strong gains ... in that context the current few % seems a minor pause for breath ...

I don't see any reason why the markets should suddenly melt down ... (bubble assets excluded of course)

Like that stock! Bought and sold 3 times now.
First time I sold too fast and it went further up.
Second time I bought low and sold at approx 31 usd.
Just bought some today at 23.50. I am contemplating my sell price.

Still +25% YTD, they appear to be publishing their losses (earnings) in 3 days. I think several people holding shares are expecting the stock to go down after those...

I was not clear...I was talking about the several people expecting the stock to go down after their earnings, and I was wondering where that came from?
