For all these guys to initiate a short squeeze via a forum seems incredible .... at some point they will all run for the door and not all of them will make it out with a profit ...

I assume many who got in a little late will end up with substantial losses as this is likely to collapse as fast as it was created.

This whole situation isn't useful or a constructive way for markets to behave and surely will lead to regulation of some sort; the institutions will not accept getting burned by a bunch of kids on a forum.

What happens if they ban it? Do our positions just get sold at the price they're trading at at the time?

Or are you just not able to buy more.....only sell?

Robin hood just stopped accepting purchases on Gamestop. Sorry but that's crooked, just trying to favour the hedgies.

It's ok as the chances of the Germans getting any AZ vaccine any time soon aren't brilliant! ;)

I'm guessing the big shorts have enough cash to wait until it collapses; the business fundamentals are what they are so is this episode going to turn the business around?

Can they use this to raise capital and stage some sort of business transformation? Would be incredible if that turned out the be the case; imagine if they use this to raise a load of capital which can then fund taking the brand on-line and then actually surviving. Then the WSB guys would be good activists for their favourite games shop ...

I think it shows only the big boys are allowed to make money. This will ruin Robin Hood as they are losing accounts in droves and there is a movement to give them 1 star reviews.

The incompetence of the management seems to be endless or they would have done this already days ago. Creating a sea of cash to finally make the company fit for the 21st century is the only priority they should have, given they have been handed this opportunity out of nothing.

I think it's the stampede of WSB traders trying to take profits or cut losses.

If I was you, I would wait for the next bounce. Sure as hell is going to come, short covering is also part of the selloff and I think the punters will learn to appreciate the bids that the shorts have for them - if it wasn't for the shorts the bottom would have fallen out in an instance. But I suppose that argument is still lost on them even when they are experiencing it first-hand - as they simply have no clue.

I have set two sell orders on ii.

Both are somewhat high, but if there is a big spike up, I thought it best to have sell orders in place rather than running the risk of not being able to log into my ii account.

One is quite a bit lower than the two peaks and the other is a bit higher.

I've not done much work so far today.

That could be the same people. A few years ago there was an arranged thing, similar to this madness, to sell Bitcoin and buy Silver. It spiked up to 50p.

I think the same thing may happen again.

I cannot set the limit orders I would like on trading212, too far from yesterday's close!

I had a sell at $3.33 set and I missed it by a couple of cents. Bugger!

It's a race to sell before it's closed down!

Gamestop is going nuts, up to $425. I set a fill or kill on HL for $320 for £1k as it dipped below $300 but no idea if I got it or not.

HL only accepting fill or kill on GME and IMG.

Really happy to hear some of you did well, it was a fun day and first (and probably last) time in my life that I have been invested in a 24-hour ten-bagger. Those are rarer than winning the lottery (at least in in real life), but this is 2021 and they seem to happen all the time.

Appreciate your fundraiser donations, seeing we have three of them already.

OK turns out my sell did get filled. Cashed out half at the peak it looks like. Wish I sold it all now!!

    Not for the feint hearted!

Must say - ii is awful to use. I had another sell order in at $3.77 (just in case here was a big spike up) and I have just logged back in to cancel the order, about 20 minutes ago, and can now not do anything. I can't sell them or set another sell order, until that one is cancelled......I assume it's in a queue. Quite annoying, especially if there was another spike up going on!

    RH deserves it.

They are trading platform, not a financial advisor or nanny.
If people want to trade in certain stocks, they should provide full access to the market and not decide for themselves which stocks they will allow people to buy/sell

So in pre market trading I was looking at a profit of a Grey Market Daytona on GME. Then the restrictions happened and I thought I'll get out of the trade with my shirt at least via HL. Nope, fill or kill there. Now with the trade not executed yet I am down a Submariner. So I may as well just keep it in play for when the inevitable lawsuits hit

Now I know this was a particularly volatile trade and it is what it is, no sympathy expected nor asked for. I was simply playing the game and along for the (rocket) ride like everyone else. However this stinks of shorties manipulating the markets. Why on earth would all those trading platforms restrict buying the stock.

I'll lick my wounds and move on, no doubt the WSB guys will now divert attention to BTC or whatever and I have a healthy position there awaiting the move up.

It doesnt make sense to restrict free market trading - someone/thing is behind it.

Im keen on seeing what the fallout is (if any).

It's in full freefall now, still have no idea if I got the fill or not! very frustrating. I kinda hope I did not work now it has tanked
