It’s nuts, I’m amazed anyone would muck about like this, pure gambling, on something that can’t even be forecast.

This kind of caper has to lead to greater regulation of markets.

If the S&P500 closes below current levels there will be BIG trouble. REALLY BIG.

Been expecting some kind of weakness for a while, if the 3740/45 support doesn't hold on a closing basis, that will trigger a lot of selling from long-term accounts.

Maybe I haven't been in the market long enough but I have never seen this level of stock pumping before.

Gamestop etc is a wild story

  13. #4363
I got and then sold both AMC and NOK only small amounts made around 10%, HL really isn’t that great, the pricing is so off it’s crazy. And when you do want to sell when the prices peak (NOK) a few hours ago it just gives you an error that you can’t see.

Wish I had spare cash to play this more, you could really make a lot of money. Or lose it!

Still for my Space stocks from 2 weeks back, 90% up but only a tiny amount

Sucks I could not buy any Nakd 100%+ growth in a few hours would have been nice

I still don't get why it goes mad after the regular market closes??

What is driving it, and who is buying at $1.60+ when the same people could have bought at $1.08 just 20 minutes ago??

    Very odd.

And now, you're going to give us a sleepless night, Raffe, with comments like "I'm selling" at a time when we are not able to sell. (Assuming can't sell after hours on ii. Certainly cannot on HL)

ETA - Is the after hours tarading driven by other markets around the world that open when the USA closes? Maybe these stocks can be traded regularly on the Japanese and Chinese exchanges? In the same way that Argo Blockchain can be traded on the USA QB index?

Well, the same held through during the day. Those who sold at $1.20 might have been the busers at $1.70 or those who were hoping to buy lower but then panicked as they thought it may go through the roof.

Doesn't look like I am selling just yet, it has fallen from $1.75 to $1.25, so let's wait what happens.

Check out Koss Interactive. Closed Monday at $6, yesterday at $10 and trades at $80 right now.

    That's the real thing.

I lost my bottle and sold just before close at about 1.30, but still made a few hundred quid. Amazing illustration of just how dangerous this game can be!

There really is no way for me to sell until 14:30 tomorrow when the US market opens.

I suspect that by that time, it might all be over and i'll be back to minimal gains or a loss.......or am I over worrying at this point?

I wouldn't worry too much, I'd say it will open anywhere between $2.00 and $5.00 - so you'll be alright either way.

Is this (NAKD) sort of volatility normal?

It seems to me, just trying to get started in this, and probably at an awful time. That there's not much to be lost and an awful lot to be gained from the above example?

Even £100 at 0.65 (when I checked, still not yet verified at Raffes broker mentioned above) would be £200 at close, and very easy to dump for ~0 loss if you keep an eye out?

    Am I missing something obvious?

@Raffe do you recommend interactive brokers? I have an IG account with nothing currently in it but if IB is better I don't mind opening one there instead.

SIP and ISA are both Vanguard but I do wonder if I should be trying to do this behind an ISA instead.

I find IAB a very good trading app. Use it mostly on the mobile phone, but their desktop app is quite something, replaces a Bloomberg terminal if you are used to have one.

I know nothing about UK taxes, so cannot answer the second part.

Seem to have missed it by a tiny margin, see that somewhere $2.21 was given, but I received nothing into my $2.22 bid.

It gives me great comfort knowing that you're happy to buy back in at $2.22.

Yes, Wileeey, having spent a bit more time looking at the various platforms tonight, it seems the IAB one is superb. The ii one I joined up to is pretty basic and clunky. It's also made me realise a few good and bad points on the HL platform, and the extreme limitations of the Vanguard one, which I have my wife and child's ISAs in.

I wonder what the IAB one costs to use. I expect it'll have a monthly fee.

Never received a fill at $2.22, went a bit yo-yo between 2.25 and 2.50 and now has taken off again.

Lowered my limit to $2.14 now and will go to bed. TBC.

IAB costs no fee other than exchange fees and trading commissions.

It gets some seriously slating reviews on the App Store, which seems strange as it looks far more professional than most platforms.

People saying things like they have poor bid/offer spreads and sell your stop losses to market makers...etc.

I expect most, if not all other platforms are similar. The casino never loses, after all.

Is that Biden who pulled the trigger?

He said he was going to look into the GME saga, earlier today.

Sorry but that is complete nonsense. Every broker has the same bid/offer spreads as these are established at the stock exchange and not by the broker, and orders are routed to exchanges and not to market makers.

And no, WSB was not shut down. It was only so full of trolls and bots that the mods took it private for some time to clean it up. This has happened before and there is nothing unusual or sinister behind it. It is open and fine.

Saw that NAKD and other WSB stocks crashed on the rumour but recovered later. My $2.14 order got filled and I am a bit longer again. I think tomorrow is the day to get out, expect a volatile session with a big spike.

Trying to get back to sleep.

I suspected that many of the IB reviews on the App Store are bogus and probably written by users or owners of other competing platforms.
