Is this 38.5 too small for my 20 cm wrist?

    Hi there,

I found a good offer for a Orient Star classic which looks the part as a suit watch (for me at least).
Have one issue though..does it look too small? Even the seller said it looks kinda small..
    Model SAF02004W0

What do you say? Yay or nay?

Do not ask strangers. You are correct that it is very difficult to judge when looking at your watch like on the photo (it’s good to check legibility though). Stand in front of a wall mirror and see for yourself. You are the one who needs to be pleased with what you see.

At the end of the day its up to you!

Personally though...Id say its too small....In photos, the watches usually look bigger (than they actually are I mean!)...in the phots it doesnt look big at all...so in reality, it would wear smaller...so for me....nay!

Looks absolutely fine to me but I'm not afraid of a smaller watch and it's not my watch or wrist.

It looks fine to me, but your hand spread out does distort the image. As others have said take a look in the mirror in a normal relaxed pose and see what you think.

It kind of looks ok, being on leather and that style of watch. But, I had a similar size precious metal GP, and just couldn’t get accustomed to the smaller size on my wrist, which is around the same size. I think you would be much better with something 39-42mm in a similar style.
It's just a matter of time...

It looks fine. 38.5mm for an all dial watch really isn't small anyway. In any event, if you like it that's all that matters. Instagram is full of people rocking watches that are far too big for them in my opinion and they clearly don't give a monkeys so why should you!!

Looks fine - but you’re convincing yourself might be small
You’ll not wear it - so don’t bother

Looks pretty good to me too.

It's not too small. The watch should be contained by the wrist, not the other way around.

    Looks good.

Much better than a huge watch on a skinny hairless wrist.

Is this the same as a woman asking if her bum looks big in a dress?

My wrist is a tad over 20cm,the only watch I’ve kept that’s around 38mm is a Sinn 556 on a bracelet, the rest look way too small in my eyes.

It looks fine to me ... it's a dress watch ... not supposed to be a dinner plate ...

Agree...didn’t board the 2000s train with the enormous watches then, will not start now.
But now is a reverse trend: I see with a lot of purists bashing users of watches over 42mm :)
Anyway, thank you for the answer, I have to analyze if I really like the watch or the good price

    Thank you!
I think I’ll just buy it and if we can’t cohabitate, it will be a easy sell

Yes! 556 would be ordered now if it would be a 40mm but for that price ...I must be sure it fits perfect man, I am not making no compromise for 1000 £

At the end of the day what really matters is what does it look like to you. I am not wearing it, the others are not wearing it, you are wearing it. If you like how it looks and especially how it feels on your wrist that is all that matters.

All watches wear very different depending on style..

Wrist size is unimportant.we all have different shape and size wrists

Personally I wear everything from 34mm to 44mm.

It’s drives me nuts when I see these questions

There is no right size it’s what feels right for you and nobody else..
