    Great pics!!

Miss my old Exp II Polar!

Anybody owned both previous and current model?

Presume like the Sub the tiny tweaks mean little on paper but on the wrist make a difference.

Hankering now for the new Polar

Beautiful pictures as always Nono, I’ll end up ordering prints from you again!
I really enjoy the close up of the marks on the clasp, gives some “character” to it

Thank so much Wandril. I think every watch needs to have a character because they will all be the same. Every dent and scratch tells a story. Use, but not abuse. :)
As for the prints, sure thing buddy, just hit me up in the PM and we'll make it happen

Very cool pic, reminds me that I’m on the list for this one, will give my AD a nudge!

I really like the new explorer II and I really, really like the photos in this thread.

Here’s my previous generation explorer II with no paint left in the bezel and knackered lume, which I see people have started calling a chicci di mais dial, rather than knackered lume.

    Love it.

So I've been on the list for one of these & a Sub for almost exactly a year now. In the meantime, I've bought a white Seamaster & a BB58 as stand-ins with the intention of flipping them when I get the call. Trouble is, the Seamaster is so striking I think it's probably a keeper. I hate the bezel, and it's not keeping fabulous time, but the dial is beautiful & the rubber strap works a treat. Consequently, I've been considering taking myself off the list for the polar Exp II.

Every time I get close to giving my AD a call though, I search for this thread & realise immediately this would be a big mistake. As many others have said Nono, these are just great photos & thanks for sharing them.

Thanx man, and boy that neo-vintage explorer looks epic with that knackered lume. Looks like it had a pretty good ride. Fantastic

Haha, what a great story. Well, I'm glad to help. And don't sell the Seamaster, Omega makes just fantastic watches. There is plenty of room for both of them :)

Some great photos on this thread. Here’s my favourite I took a couple of years ago.

Not sure how I have missed this thread for so long.

OP, you take a mean photo, no wonder that some members ask for prints.

    Love the Autumn one.

I saw that orange background one on your insta the other day. Beautiful shots. I think your Instagram is almost entirely responsible for me wanting a polar.

By the way, what’s that NATO kind of strap in the orange backdrop photo? Looks great.

It's the Erica's MN paratrooper straps. It's basically elastic NATO type strap. Very comfortable on the wrist

Thanks! I think I will try something similar on my BB Pro.

I can see that pictures many times, thanks. The Polar is one of the best Roles, for me is the most beautiful.

The more I look at the current Explorer II it feels like theperfect all rounder for me in 2022.

I’d still probably choose the black over the white but no doubt it looks amazing in these shots.

Anyone want to trade for a 16710??

That was classic WIS behaviour so I can already change my mind and go for something else in 2023!

I completely agree as I’m seriously considering getting one as they look great and as I’m getting older it’s clear and easy to tell the time , I made a schoolboy error selling my unpolished polar 16570 years ago though .

    Rolex Explorer 2 Eye Candy

I think the Explorer II is currently the most balanced sports Rolex since they slimmed down the lugs even more for 22mm spacing. And proper maxi hands. Probably what they’ll do with the next Submariner.

Case is actually about 41.2mm in diameter.

And not having pointless ceramic bezel, makes it the only model still resembling the original.

    Hi,

first post ever and I landed here cos I got one incoming and can't get enough of it while waiting.
On top of a stunning watch I must say there are some serious photography skills on display here.

I skimmed through all pages of these and have never seen so many before in one place (or perhaps simply haven’t looked).
Seeing how there’ve been so many here, does it mean that everyone on TZ has one except me?

Maybe just the pair of us. Although next one in my sights is either the 16570 Polar or either of the six-digit models...
