The good ol Seiko vs Rolex thing.

Seiko do some very nice watches at all levels.

A very nice group, but I do wish they would not put the ' X ' on the dial.

The "6105's" and blue Alpinist look very interesting, will need to be well under a grand though, possibly £600-700?

I have tried but I cannot really tell the difference between all the different Seiko divers-I have to look it up to work out which one I’m looking at. I know some are iconic and there’s one at every price point but the result is that I don’t by any because I’d be hankering after the model just above any I do buy.

I rather like the look of the Alpinist ‘lite’ models, particularly the blue and grey versions.

It’s probably heretical to say but I think removing the compass improves them...

I've noticed a theme...... it looks to me as if Seiko is delving into their back catalogue while simultaneously dipping into the Rolex, Tudor, Omega colour palette????

That platinum grand seiko dress watch with the fully engraved dial is very special. And so it should be, for $97k!

The hi-beat 80-hour power reserve(!) watch has an entirely new movement with a novel escapement! Incredible prowess from Seiko.

So in addition to the expensive LE versions there are multiple ‘modern’ SLA017‘s with various amounts of aged lume, a ‘modern’ cheaper SLA0133.
Really stretching pricing up and down. Going to confuse a fair few people I think.

Pity they removed 'Marinemaster' from the dials on some of the divers but guess that's life 😐

Aha finally, a 6105 for the mass market. Seiko has done a fantastic job so far this year with the more 'regular', accessible divers.

All the additional models have been removed from this. As stated

“ Previously there were a number of additional watches listed on this page. These watches were shown in the Seiko 2020 catalog that was provided on the seikowatches.com website.

Unfortunately this catalog was incorrectly uploaded by Seiko as it contained a number of watches that are still under embargo (as of 2020-03-06). The catalog has now been removed from the Seiko website and I have removed the information previously contained as per the request for Seiko Australia. These new models will be announced in coming weeks and will appear on local Seiko sites when officially released.”

    Porco Rosso

Really rather taken with the Seiko Presage Studio Ghibli spring drive with the white dial. Am I right in thinking €5800 is a bit rich though? Or am I guilty of being a tight-fisted Scot?
I suppose I can add it to the list of lovely things that exist beyond what I am prepared to pay, like 90% of watches these days. No bad thing though, I can still admire without a need to actually own.

Cheers for that. Just confirms that I really like the watch. At that price though, if I were to consider something in that price bracket, I might just go for a proper Grand Seiko. Still, a lovely piece to my eye.

Shame that the new hi beat SLA039 will be 14.7mm thick - The SLA017 was thick enough at 14.1mm.. The new 6R35 powered SBP149J comes in at a much more wearable 13.2mm thick..

I’ve just read on WUS that all the premature announcements pulled yesterday are actually due to announce on the 20th May.

Glad the Porcco Rosso watch caught someone else's eye. Love the film and a nice looking watch but sadly at that price not going to happen.

I can imagine a few existing owners of some SLA models who will be fuming at a few of these releases. Real kick in the teeth.

Have Seiko "re-issued" the 6105 811X other than the SLA033 sold last year?

Nice but insanely priced Seikos again... I’d rather go with Rolex at 6.5-7k..

That X-symbol would put me off, plus Seiko's normally on the thick side. That said, amazing attention to detail, especially the GS.
