Which guinand are you thinking off?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Am after a mechanical chronograph (prefer new) for under, or around £2,000.
Current shortlist:-
Sinn 144
Damasko DC66
Guinand
Needs to have a date function.
Views on the above and other alternatives greatly received.
Thanks

You’ll even have change from your two grand.
Sorry, no date function. Non-date is a plus point in my book.

I don't think you can go wrong with Sinn 144. There is also Fortis in the same ballpark, but I'd pick Sinn unless the classic Fortis cosmonaut chrono (lemania or valjoux) interests you. I went for Sinn myself.
Just to throw into the mix a Tudor monte carlo heritage reissue
Ever considered Farer? Even has a dial-coloured date wheel:
You'd get a nice Speedmaster triple date for that, or a Mk 4.5.
Sinn or Damasko would be my call, especially as the Sinn is on my want list.
Something from Temption?

Liking this new model
I really like this Hamilton
Longines have a good range of styles in that price range, maybe https://www.longines.co.uk/watch-the...-l2-629-4-78-6

Assuming used is OK - Zenith Class Sport? Also assuming they are still available in budget.
As per previous post...
I went looking for a used Zenith EP at that price but couldnt find one that I felt was a prospect. I thought I would TBH...
My favorite:
It was originally 6K. Now less than 2K.
I'm a Rolex guy through and through but Daytona is just too small. This is 45mm.
Maybe it's not for everyone but I love it. Here's my review:

Cheers.
I know I’m biased but there are a couple of Fortis Stratoliners with the Lemania 5100 movement on Chrono24 just inside your budget. I think you could get one for less (I did), but for looks and the usefulness of the centre minutes counter I don’t think they can be beaten. If you like the Sinn and Damasko maybe the Fortis would appeal.

I’d have another one of these in a flash - Heuer Monza, readily available used for less than £2k.

You say you prefer new, but a used Damasko will still look like new. My DA37 (2006) and DC56 (2009) both do. The Damasko bezel action is sublime (I also had a DC67 a while ago).

I would keep half the budget and buy this
a 200m WR rated chronograph in a sub-inspired case design with a uni-directional 60 click bezel, drilled lugs and the full suite of Lemania 5100 features.
It is all the chrono you will ever need.
I have owned several of these Lorenz Lemanias, they are great watches. I get to see the lastone I owned relatively regularly, as I sold it to Jason on here and we both help run the Redbar Bristol group, so we see each other quite regularly.
I should add that I have no connection with the seller and cannot vouch for them.

I'm not a huge Tag Heuer fan but this I do like and it is worth considering.
Or you could go much much cheaper and try out the Lorier Gemini when it comes back into stock

This, if you use your chrono regularly then centre minutes is near essential imo. I have the Stratoliner without the digits and it is just so readable. I paid considerable less than 2k (on here) but I think I got a bit of a bargain. Budget £400 or so for a Lemania 5100 service.
