Looks like Mullet. Thick lipped variety.
Does anyone know what type of fish there are? I recorded this video today in Portugal -

Mullet. They’ll jump in your boat with the tide, too. Worth rubbing the inside with a little vinegar after cleaning the fish as sometimes tastes a bit ‘muddy’ due to what it eats.

Curious, what do they eat and what does mud taste of?

They forage in the mud (silt may be a better word) for debris as they go with the tide in rivers and canals. As for the taste, hard to describe but an aftertaste similar to that of carp.
It’s a good fish to eat though, but it needs to be prepared correctly.
The salted dried roe, compressed, is a delicacy from the Med, favoured by Jewish communities all around the bassin (bottarga).

Hard to catch with a rod because of their lips. We used to cast over them and try to foul hook them in Girvan harbour

Are you sure it's not a slow-worm in a cunning disguise?
So clever my foot fell off.
As above defo grey mullet. Again very hard to catch on rod and line.

Used to see them gathering around a sewer outfall in harbour.
Many thanks everyone! This was taken at an estuary near to the sea near Galé beach, Algarve. Trying to wonder if we should cut short our plans before UK Gov locks down the airports.
