    WTF???? NHS Content

Senior management has a slight condition which is well controlled and monitored by 3 monthly telephone appointments. All well for some years now and today she got a notification of the next appointment incorporating the usual "If this is inconvenient telephone xxxxx xxxxx to rearrange" message. Now the date given happens to be while we are away so after the usual excuse of receiving a very high number of calls after twenty minutes she eventually got through to a human being. And the next possible appointment? Wait for it..... January 2024. FFS......

Wow, that beats even my recent experience. I rarely use the NHS, perhaps 4 GP appointments on the last 5 years, but wanted a referra for my deafness and increasing tinnitus. Got a text telling time c.20 weeks. And to call ENT for an appointment. When I got through, told 35-50 weeks.

I thought I’d had problems- my kids finally talked me into a e- appointment for my knees - which have been giving mt some problems for a couple of months
Filled in the online form a next morning I received a text saying a gp would call me on 28th -… i automatically presumed it was jan
When they didn’t call I reread the text - it’s Feb
That’s what not going for 12 years gets you - not 100% sure they actually do face 2 face anymore

My daughter has had a letter to book an appointment online yet there's no appointments available to book, go back to the GP and they say you've had a letter to book so now with the hospital and go to the hospital who say if not happy speak to the GP.

...................... and yet my, after many months of waiting, my wife received an appointment for a scan and a specialist appointment for a problem with her wrist. Having rested the joint for several months the pain had improved to the point she felt she was cured! She didn't want to waste valuable NHS resources so cancelled both appointments.

She has since received 2 further appointments over the last month .....................Left hand/Right hand I guess!
