Lego Audi Quattro Sport S1 - the 20 quid gateway for a Technic addiction!

There's been threads over the years on Lego, namely the mega complex Technic kits; the Land Rover Defender, Chiron, Porsche 911 etc.

I always fancied a go at one of those but haven't managed to build one yet.

This appeared on my Instagram feed as an ad last week... just £18 from Amazon or Argos and its BRILLIANT! One for the Group B fans. Decent fun to build (about an hour taking my time) and going straight onto my study desk.

    Well worth <£20.

    LINKS TO BUY:

Here’s a full list of all 40 Speed Champions sets:

    https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Speed-Champions

The 2020 sets are 8 studs wide giving them a bit more presence than the earlier 6 stud wide sets.

An exact copy of the original! Those lego bricks emphasize the 'boxy' shape of the Ur Quattro!

Thanks for this, I’d seen it on Twitter a few weeks back and forgotten all about it as there were no amazon links to buy.
Might have to do this and the Nissan GTR...!

Yes! I absolutely love this, got to be the best looking Lego car

I guess it’s an easier shape to replicate in bricks than others!

The classic 911 is the other one I’d like

I have the 911 RSR and I fear it may be a gateway to Technic too. I had such a relaxing time making it that I have started searching for something more challenging.

I have the Audi too in a box waiting to build, I have had sat there for nearly a month, waiting for a small window of time when I am not working to build and enjoy.
    This weekend I hope.

Different price bracket at £75, but spotted they’ve just released a fiat 500

Proportions look a little off to me, but not an easy shape to replicate out of blocks I can imagine

    Cool little thing

I’m gonna sound like a bore but I never really understood Lego car replicas that have special shape bricks to half make it look like the model it’s copying.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Lego and even now I’ll sit with my lad and build stuff but it just doesn’t make much sense to me to have special half real shape bricks making a porsche 911 for example.

HOWEVER, that Audi is the first replica car I’ve seen that works with Lego and actually flows with the media. It’s a funny size to include their usual size man though! I saw the pics on here and thought it was tiny with that generic small windscreen you get when making little Lego cars. I looked at the Argos link and it’s a lot bigger than I thought and they have a Lego man stood next to it with a spanner and his head only just comes up to the door window level :D

    Pretty cool that little Audi

Is there anywhere that they're in stock for delivery straight away? Amazon saying May 1st for me now

ETA: Smyths had them with free delivery over £30 so I've added the 911 too :)

Lego Audi Quattro Sport S1 - the 20 quid gateway for a Technic addiction!

Smyths website was where we bought most of our speed champions from, Audi was amazon

Just ordered the light kit off eBay which is almost as expensive as the model but hey.. you only live once right?? I’ll post some pictures up from the study when it’s up and running

Love the top photo with the car airborne and the close Lego crowd.
Think that has got to be worth money to Lego.

Those photos are great - amazing what you can do with time on your hands!

Last year, I found the Porsche in CarreFour here in Doha, and snapped it up. Had great fun building it, and now it sits on my work-from-home desk, on my monitor's base.

The Lego add-on for Forza 4 is great - my son loves it! He loved the Hot Wheels Forza 3 expansion, too!

I was chuffed to find it in Doha - I told my wife it was for my son, but we all know the truth!

For the Lego minded amongst us.....
If you go to the online shop they are doing a limited time run on three kits that you can normally only get from the Lego House in Billund.

Regards that ISS set above.....it will probably look impressive when built but I can't help but think it will be a bit of a dull build.
