Hp office jet 4500 problem

Hi all anyone know much about these
I’ve had it for about 5 years at work to print invoices quotes etc
It came up with print cartridge problem refer to handbook (can’t find it )
So I got 2 new genuine hp cartridges this morning about 30 bloody quid
And it’s still not working. Any ideas ?

I’ve got the 4650 at work, prob near enough identical, had the same problem 10 days ago, recent software update- Only way I could get it work again was by removing the colour cartridge and switching it to single colour use.
